The game seems to be getting rave reviews all across the board.
Never understood the hate about this project.

Eonjay1059d ago

The only thing I heard in previews that people didn't like was the art style. It doesn't bother me but for some people the stop-motion-comicbook like approach actually made them sick. Kinda like no matter how smooth VR is some people still get sick.

Yea that’s what I wasn’t digging... I just don’t find the art style appealing, whatsoever.

BrainSyphoned1059d ago

Because of shaky cam. I don't watch action movies with shaky cam, I don't play games with shaky cam. Art style withstanding I don't need constant movement of the camera up down and all around. The preview is more than enough to say never for me regardless of the score.

Well I mean, everytime they showed it off it just felt flat to me

Reviews or not I still have no interest in it

TGGJustin1059d ago

It has a mid 70's average so I wouldn't say it is getting rave scores all across the board. It would be higher if that was the case.

Petebloodyonion1059d ago

The majority of trustworthy sources praised the game or find it really good and that is enough for me
I could care less about some clickbait article that scores the game 40% while giving lots of praise for various aspects (idea, voice acting, plot twist, etc.)in the said article but couldn't explain why the game is broken and should be avoided as other 40/100 rated game.

The only constant complaint (and it's not really a complaint) is that the art style is devising.

I absolutely hate the artstyle in this game, I just find it so off putting. I have no shortage of games to get through so I am not sure I'll get around to this one.

Not my type of game but the reviews are impressive.

Sadly I can’t trust reviews on games like this from mainstream sources. If the story mirrors their ideology and pushes wokeness then it will yield a higher score. I’ll definitely try this out because I love quantic dreams games but I won’t be shocked if agendas injected take me out of the experience.

Review - As Dusk Falls (PS5) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Heidi Hawes: "Interactive narrative games might not be for everyone, but As Dusk Falls is still one that I’ll recommend to just about everyone. It keeps you constantly engaged, with high stakes and choices that actually matter, no matter how seemingly insignificant they might seem. This is one of the first interactive dramas that’s managed no not only hold my attention, but kept me so captivated that I finished my first playthrough in one sitting. Then I went back for more. If you’re on the fence about checking it out, I implore you to not let the curtain fall on As Dusk Falls."

"interactive dramas" Ah got it, so not a game. I totally agree. These very simple 'click the drama' interactive titles are fast becoming a new norm.
