Fewer Than Four Percent Of FIFA 22 Players Have Played A Women's Match

TheGamer's Ben Sledge says: "FIFA 22 is coming towards the end of its lifespan as players prepare for the next iteration of EA’s annual football simulator. However, achievement statistics show that just four percent of players have played a women’s football match in the game’s 10-month lifespan."

I don't think there was any need to put female footbal ...
Got it via PS Plus, played one game (men football), disliked, uninstalled ... back to PES 2020/21

Yi-Long649d ago

There are millions of young girls in this world who play football and might want to play it in a game as well, so I’m fine with EA offering them that opportunity, plus personally I’d certainly try out that mode/option a few times if I had the game.

Like you, I’m sticking with PES2021 though.

RpgSama649d ago

Looks like those millions of young girls do might want to play but based on those stats, they do not.

Snakeeater25648d ago

But those girls are playing with the male team. Those girls are the same one that love to go see a fifa game but leave the stands empty at the women ligue

Yi-Long

Almost 50% of gaming market is female according to data being pushed by some of these SJW who are only pushing their agendas

But if you look deeper only 2-4% of that comes from core gamers and rest are mobile gamers playing games like candy crush or something similar

That's why R* don't want one of their main characters to be female because it could cost them a lot of money if they alienate their core base

shinoff2183648d ago

@neuteredgamer1992

Its to early to tell with gta. The female argument wasnt brought up often. Not until gta5 was out have yo seen the question of why no female lead in gta. Now idk about you maybe you got some secret leak into gta6 but the verdict is still out.

Now if gta has a female lead whats wrong with that. If you dont wanna support gta do it cause the way they over did it with gta online(bunch of suckers) not a female character. Thats just petty and childish.

PapaBop648d ago

It seems female football is getting more and more popular, I don't care for it but it's cool EA are adding it, god knows it's not like they are adding much new stuff anyway.

"There are millions of young girls in this world who play football and might want to play it in a game as well"

...but, they aren't, apparently.

At the end of the day, it's an option.

I think the deeper issue of people not being interested in women's football isn't the fact they are women, but the gulf in class between men and women particularly in football is vast. Bigger than most other sports I would say.

A single male premier League footballer can run through an entire team of women and this has been shown on video multiple times. Shit I'd probably run rings round them being from England and playing football at an amateur level.

It'll be a while before we see performance levels increase to the point where people are interested in women's football. Until then, why would anyone, male or female watch such a lesser sport?

slayernz649d ago

i would have gone for all trophies, but played career mode first, and after finding out i had maxed my player stats out when the player was barely 17 years old (what a joke) i turned it off and uninstalled it......

anast649d ago

and the article calls it a simulator...

ClosetRebel649d ago

Apparently, very few people (little girls included) actually want to play that. Again, the primary audience has always been, and continues to be, men/boys. Most men/boys don't give a toss about female sports.

yeahokwhatever648d ago

all these woke companies arent brave enough to make an accurate volleyball game. lol

PapaBop648d ago

Haha so true, female tennis is fun to watch, i'm struggling with female football. The level they play it is pretty poor, it feels like watching a conference game.

ChasterMies648d ago

Little girls don’t play games that are marketed for boys. Something like 10 years ago when Lego realized that girls also want to build with Legos and made Lego sets with female mini figs. Massive success. Building an audience has to start somewhere.

bloop648d ago

This has nothing to do with marketing. Simple fact of the matter is, men are generally stronger, faster and better at most sports which leads to higher intensity and competition. It's like comparing formula 1 to formula 4, and no one wants to play a formula 4 game when you already have formula 1.

Yppupdam648d ago (Edited 648d ago )

If they want to blow the sales up for "female sports" I hate to say it, but.....jiggle physics...the majority of teen males will play the heck out of the game then. :P

Kaozz1979648d ago

No surprise to be honest. It's only offered because EA does not want to deal with the feminists that would have complained about not being able to play women. They have to deal with enough backlash as it is.

senorfartcushion648d ago (Edited 648d ago )

It’s always better to have the major company DO THINGS for the consumer.

Just think, even if it’s 4 or 5 people, those people are happy now and playing a game they like.

That’s what gaming is all about.

Kaozz1979648d ago

Yes, lets waste resources on something that nobody wants/plays instead of making the content that is the main focus for 99% of the players better. Sounds reasonable.

Video game sales evade strong economic headwinds (for the time being)

From GI.biz: "As we begin 2023, the economic headwinds against the UK are very strong, currently facing a triple whammy of economic pressures.

According to the Consumer Prices Index (CPI), inflation rose by 11% in the 12 months to November 2022. UK taxes are some of the highest on record; new analysis by the Tax Payers Alliance has found the five year average tax burden is at a 70-year high. And consumes are not feeling very confident, with PWC reporting that consumer confidence stands at -44 – a sentiment worse than the -26 at the start of the pandemic."

Okay cool, Now they should be able to afford the licenses and contracts for classic cars, and classic tracks, and classic drivers in future F1 games. LOL.

philm87631d ago

100% the way they'll take it I think. Probably had the idea but not enough time to implement it.

peppeaccardo631d ago

Amazing how pushing down the throat of the gamers the same heated soup will give them strong results ... mind you they are not stupid, we are ... (I did not buy a FIFA nor an F1 for ages, all they are doind is selling DLCs at full price with small incremantal improvements).
Peace
