God Of War Ragnarok's Collector's Edtion Map Gives Us A First Look At All Nine Realms

From The Gamer: "The map included in the God of War Ragnarok Jötnar edition has given fans a first look at the game's interpretation of the Nine Realms.

In Kratos and Atreus' first adventure, players were told all about the Nine Realms but were only able to visit just over half of them, including Alfheim, Helheim, Jotunheim, Muspelheim, Niflheim, and, of course, Midgard. Three of the realms, Vanaheim, Svartalfheim, and Asgard, were all closed off from the player in the first game, but it's been confirmed that we'll get to visit them for the first time in Ragnarok."

Nice. No locked realms is probably the part I’m most hyped about. That and seeing what Odin looks like.

jznrpg1036d ago

The last game was awesome . I loved it . The ending was a super cliffhanger what’s going to happen next ending so I hated waiting to see what happens next . It comes out at the perfect time for me !
I will be done moving and it will be the beginning of winter where there isn’t much to do in my state as it starts to get cold af !!!
I will only play GoW until the end and work on the plat while I play another game . The plat was really hard for the last game for me as a couple of the Valkyries were mofo’s to beat on hard or whatever level setting I was at beyond normal . I know you can change the level but I didn’t want to .

ClayRules20121036d ago

Awesome. I wonder if/what’ll be different with the previous realms we’ve already visited in the first game?

Oh the wait…how painful it is. But how worth it it shall be!

jznrpg1036d ago

I have no idea and I love that . I don’t read about games like GoW or most games I anticipate I want it to be a surprise .
I try not to get too excited for games until close to release
(From Soft games and most Sony games I can’t help it)
but we have been waiting for this one for over 4 years now .
Thankfully SSM delivers .
The only GoW game that was a semi low point in my mind was Ascension . It was well made but at that point it was just another GoW at that point in time .
It couldn’t compare to the previous games in some ways especially after the ending of 3 .
But now it’s on a whole new level of dope I never thought it could be at and I loved the old games . Yeah I’m hyped

jBlakeeper1036d ago

Ascension was more greatness it was just overshadowed. It being a non numbered title made it seem unimportant and following GOW 3 made it seem rather tame. 3 was so grand all the way through.

ClayRules20121036d ago (Edited 1036d ago )

Well said. I do love that too. The suspense is killing me lol.

I try not to know too much myself, and stray away from too much gameplay (specifically ND games or Rockstar, SSM, Insomniac SuckerPunch etc) after the first demo etc. I know I’m in good hands with them!

Yeah, 4 years waiting for this game, difficult to believe it’s been that long. But as you said “Thankfully SSM delivers”

And for me personally, God of War 3 was a low point in the series. Had a faulty copy, crashes, among forgetting to upgrade my weapons halfway through the game🤦🏼‍♂️ (You can imagine how difficult and un-fun it got for me at times I’m sure) but also, it did feel too much of the same (although visually it was stunning to look at from beginning to end…I still can’t believe what SSM accomplished with the PS3 hardware!) but I did enjoy the game at times, once I got a new copy. But also with ascension, it just felt like the same ole thing, and I was already feeling the series was in need of a refresher (although I had no idea in what way it could/should be done) and there we have God of War 2018. But Ascension did have some nice moments, I won’t lie. I was just over that version of Kratos and again, that gameplay.

The ending of 3 though, WOW!! Which God of War is your favorite?

I understand your hype haha. I’m hyped too, and can’t wait for this new game. My hype levels (and expectations are teetering) although I don’t expect to much, because I did that with Uncharted 3 for example, and WOW… what a LETDOWN.

Learned my lesson and have better managed expectations since, and kept them in a more realistic perspective. I expect a great game. Heck, an amazing game. As long as it’s fun (of course it will be) and possibly as good as the first game, I’m happy. It doesn’t need to be better. If it’s better, that’s the cherry on top!

well... its not quite what I was expecting but still nice they honor the spartan.

VenomUK58d ago

What an absolute half-hearted and shoddy way for Sony to commemorate the epic God of War series. A few alternative skins and the option to buy t-shirts or vinyl. It would have been better to not have any celebration. Abysmal.

No offense Sony… but nobody is playing God of war ragnarok in 2025…

andy8558d ago

Every month in 2025 God of War Ragnarok has had more steam users than Starfield.

Inverno58d ago

Bruv I'm pretty there are more people playing literally anything BUT Starfield.

Profchaos58d ago

Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if there was more people playing bubsy 3d than starfield

Profchaos58d ago

Yeah no one at all especially when it just became available to the millions of PS plus subscribers

PanicMechanic58d ago (Edited 58d ago )

Maybe it’s because I sold my Ps5 last year and built a new PC. But ragnarok I finished in 2022 when it released. Don’t have any motivation to replay.

Profchaos58d ago (Edited 58d ago )

It would have been nice to have a PS plus drop of the ps2 original though I get that

Cacabunga58d ago

I actually installed it again today to try the latest roguelite DLC. Costumes is a nice addition but def expected something else.

Killer2020UK58d ago

Mate, I only started playing the previous one. It holds up unbelievably well considering it was a PS4 release

Not everybody buys and plays games during the launch window

Damn Sony
You keep on remastering recent games and yet choose not to for a franchise that's celebrating it's 20 years?
I'm sure a lot of old and new fans would appreciate being able to play the entire saga using their current gen consoles.

Shane Kim58d ago (Edited 58d ago )

Sure but that would require to actually remaster. Not selling the same game from last gen in a new box and call it remaster.

Profchaos58d ago

I admit I got a bit swept up in thinking we would get a PS classics drop of the first game on PS plus not a remaster or anything just running under the new ps2 emulator id be.halpy with that or the PSP games that deserve more praise really

New in-game content incentives coming to PlayStation games on PC

Playstation writes: "Starting with tomorrow’s release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PC, we’re working to add more benefits to playing with an account for PlayStation Network. The Last of Us Part II Remastered (coming April 3, 2025), in addition to God of War Ragnarök and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, will all soon be adding in-game content unlocks for PlayStation Network account users.

An account for PlayStation Network will become optional for these titles on PC. Players who still opt to sign into a PlayStation Network account will also enjoy added benefits like trophies and friend management."
