Elden Ring Demake for SNES? This is what the retro console version would have looked like

Today 64 Bits returns to the scene. These animators have once again given us another one of their demakes, and this time it's a game that surely no one imagined for the SNES: Elden Ring.

I'm disappointed. It's too good for a SNES game, might be too good for PS1 game too with that fluid animation. More like a today's indie to me.

babadivad1100d ago

Graphics looks like SNES could MAYBE run it towards the end of the console's life but tye smooth animation and fps gives it away.

Popsicle1100d ago (Edited 1100d ago )

I agree that it is bit too much for the SNES to handle, but not by a leap or anything. On the other hand I think the next gen (at the time) PS1 could have handled it no problem and likely better than what was demonstrated here. Think FF7, maybe it does not have the fluidity of this demo, but the demo doesn’t have the visual and graphic demand of FF7.

Nevertheless, the work they did on this demo is awesome and I really enjoyed watching it.

Omg I'd love to have this. Imagine if this came out in snes days.

Brazz1100d ago

Great work, looks like a mix of Demon's crest and Secret of Mana.

I thought SNES is a 16bit console?

philm871100d ago

Yep. Guess what the N64 was?

Hmmm. Alex Garland’s other work is amazing so I’m definitely interested.

senorfartcushion37d ago

I've always found him pretty meh.
He's a very indecisive filmmaker.

Goodguy0138d ago (Edited 38d ago )

Why? These live action adaptations have been oh so terrible lol. I know sonic is successful but I just couldn't enjoy the first movie. You cannot adapt a full game especially a 70+hr rpg into a small 1-2hr movie without many cuts.

But I suppose their goal is to reach more people with these films I guess.

anast37d ago

It all depends on the creative talent in these projects. Last of Us and Fallout are good, but Halo is sad.

InUrFoxHole37d ago

I thought halo was pretty good

Tacoboto37d ago

I understand opinions and all but...

What in the world was pretty good about the Halo series??

FinalFantasyFanatic37d ago

The only video game adaptation that I felt went above and beyond was the Sonic movies, and they almost fumbled the first one, Mario was alright too.

-Foxtrot37d ago

I'll get downvoted to hell for this but despite Jim Carrey as Robotnik I think the films could have been better, they shouldn't have included the real world, they should have stayed on Mobius. Hell I would have rather seen animation since the Sonic Mania / Origin cutscenes were great.

I still think the Sonic the Hedgehog OVA movie is better.

PapaBop37d ago

Usually agree but give Alex Garland a chance, his other movies are amazing, this is clearly a project aiming for a high standard as opposed to just some shameless cash grab.

Tapani37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

Agreed, given his track record and in-depth research he puts into each project, not to mention writers and subject matter choices he makes, I would absolutely give Alex Garland a chance. I'm intrigued, and think he has a good chance of making this work.

Pyrofire9537d ago

They'll probably not include the side quests

Same! You can make an argument for each Miyazaki game but this one and Elden Ring always seemed like a god choice for live action (or animated series)

anast36d ago

That's what I'm thinking.

gold_drake37d ago

i meam, theres alot of material there sure but ... most of these enemies are .. non human.

is the movie gonna be mostly cgi? ha.
