Makes sense as I'm sure the contract to have them on psnow is still in effect even with the switch over to the new service.

monkey6021046d ago

These games were part of Playstation Now and had these expiry dates on there.

porkChop1046d ago

And? That's how subscription services work. Original/first party content stays. The rest of the content comes and goes.

GamingSinceForever1046d ago

If you download them when available does it matter that they expire?

Profchaos1046d ago

Yes unless they were acquired via the monthly game offering those titles remain tied to your account loke they always have.
if they are simply part of the current premium and extra offering which expires they will be removed.

Operates the same as xbox gamepass monthly games are yours as long as you keep an active sub while gamepass games are available in a Netflix style meaning they may be removed and made unplayable at any point.

GamingSinceForever1046d ago

That’s messed up. You should be allowed to keep the games as long as you are subscribing.

Mr Logic1045d ago

@GSF

Yeah! Just like Gamepass...wait...

Knightofelemia1046d ago (Edited 1046d ago )

If you purchase the game then no the expiry date does not apply but like anything there is an expiry date even on games that are on a subscription based service. Is Sony also offers the game for free the expiry date also doesn't apply only way you will lose that game is if you get your account banned.

ILostMyMind1045d ago

Yup. You will not be allowed to play them.

MadLad1046d ago

PS Now wasn't very popular.
I think this information is going to surprise a good amount of people, honestly.
It's not like they were shouting this fact from the rooftops when they were talking about merging the two services together.

Saw that Balatro got over 100000! Reviews on Steam. Crazy.

Only game from these three I care about is Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun since it seems to be a nice fps.

darthv725d ago

boltgun is pretty damn fun... I have it on my steamdeck and it is crazy good.

DefenderOfDoom25d ago

I bought Warhammer Boltgun for the PS4. Very fun retro style FPS !

Damn, I thought the Until Dawn Remake was going to be one. Not a month for me.

S2Killinit4d ago

Pretty good month for me though. I would say great.

Tacoboto4d ago

The developer of the remake has already been effectively shut down, too.

Yui_Suzumiya5d ago

Boltgun is so much fun. I own it on Steam, PS4 and Switch (Physical). Beaten it so many times that I could probably get through it in my sleep, lol.

MaximusPrime_25d ago

Strange why people disagree with me. Probably they are illiterate or just fanboys who hates PS.

Anyway, the articles clearly said it and I just saved you a click. Thanks Moegooner for the list of countries

Mmmkay25d ago

Or maybe there is a difference between south America and Latin America..

With these reckless trade wars going on, expect videogames to keep getting more expensive.

babadivad25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

Switch prices were locked in before the Tarrifs. They just conveniently used the tarrifs as an excuse to calm outrage.

PSN is a digital service and isn't subjected to any kind of tarrifs.

They have been trying to find a way to increase the price for years.

Don't let them trick you into blaming tarrifs for corporate greed.

crazyCoconuts25d ago

When I look at Brazil, the increased price for PS Essential new users annually is equivalent to $61 USD, monthly is $7.50 USD. In the US it's more expensive. Just an observation that maybe they've been getting a better deal all along.

BeHunted25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

"Just an observation that maybe they've been getting a better deal all"

No, not every country has the same average salary as the United States. When releasing games and consoles, pricing should be based on the local economy and wages, which are often very different from those in the U.S

crazyCoconuts25d ago

"When releasing games and consoles, pricing should be based on the local economy and wages"
So companies should sell consoles at a large loss in impoverished countries?

Sony is run by imbeciles unfortunately

Zenzuu25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

In your own words.

*All are welcome to Switch 2. Microsoft Games Studios is interested in long term profits and market value not petty fanboy thoughts.*

Now, I'll change some of it.

Show us on the doll where sony touched you

anast25d ago

They have to keep up with Nintendo's prices.

Michiel198925d ago

yes they decided on this in a week, it can't be that they were planning it anyway, it couldn't have been. Not from your favourite company.

anast25d ago

It's strange. It's like you read the words, but you don't have the ability to understand them.

ARESWARLORD25d ago

I already find it to be a terrible value. Go ahead and up the price and 100% lose me.

andy8524d ago (Edited 24d ago )

Not saying a price increase is good but I'm paying £8 a month for access to 1000 games. That's absolutely not terrible value

ARESWARLORD22d ago

How many of those games are you actually playing
