It's disappointing that Capcom prioritized 4K (only slightly dynamic) in the RT mode over a stable framerate and playability.

Plenty of headroom for 60fps in the RT mode. Hope they add an option to lower the resolution to something like 1600p (a drop to 1440p doesn't even seem necessary).

Hypnofear1037d ago

Agreed, the original One X and PS4 Pro versions ran at 1620p. If they used that resolution for RT mode on PS5 and Series X, I'm sure performance would be a lot closer to 60fps

A good downscaled version like your saying is very achievable but they don’t want to put the effort and $ into doing it properly .

4K isn’t necessary for any game this gen imo, run it at 1920,18xx ,16xx 1440 (that’s the lowest they should need for the PS5 and Series X the S shouldn’t even be considered imo) whichever gives you the best results for 60fps and detail .

There is a lot of techniques available that give you something very close to what native would look like to human eyes but less taxing performance wise . But they have to have the will to do it and apparently at launch they didn’t .
Only if sales are great do we have a chance for a good patch but if it’s just expected sales or lesser I doubt we get much more than a few tweaks here and there .

Weird choice not to go with a dynamic resolution. Could squeeze alot of extra performance out of the RT mode. The game is so dark in many places that they could have aggressively cut resolution on areas you're not directly focused on, and no one would hardly notice. That or allow a 30/40 FPS lock to reduce stuttering.

I prefer play the original more than this

RE3 need another remake

DivineHand12536d ago

Why not port RE4 remake to meta quest 3?

Profchaos36d ago

Because the headset isn't capable of running it simply put it's not powerful enough.

Look at metro awakening on quest 3 that's pushing it to its extreme and it's quite far behind PC and PS for graphical capabilities.

Profchaos36d ago

Wow I thought they would abandon this as the sales for village and 4 were abysmal

JEECE36d ago

For whatever reason and despite all evidence to the contrary, their are some companies bent on convincing themselves and others that people want to play premium games on Apple devices.

VersusDMC36d ago

It's assumed apple is paying for the ports. Apple probably paid a lump sum for all the RE games so capcom is just finishing up the contract.

Or maybe Capcom sees this as port practice for the switch 2 or these ports are what the switch 2 versions will be?
