So now that it is officially confirmed that Hideo Kojima is working with Microsoft to make a ‘never before seen concept’, I explore the possibilities of what this alluring partnership could bring.

It's not Death Stranding 2, so that's a plus for me, personally.

I think it´s gonna a horror game. Maybe the biggest ever created since it´ll gonna be cloud based.

According to Tom Henderson, it´s a horror game called "Overdose". We all know that "insiders" shouldn´t be trusted most of the time, but the fact that Kojima Productions themselves had reached and asked him to remove his original post/leak, adds some legitimacy to his claims, because otherwise, they wouldn´t bother.

Back on point though, cant wait to see what kojima is cooking up, im really hoping it is the horror game overdose as PT which was glorified demo was basically the best horror game in who know how long, so i think its the perfect change of pace that kojima will knock out of the park!!

It gets old having to address jackass comments like this. Death Stranding was one of the most polarizing games to come out in a long time. Hell, even a lot of fans of the original have said they don't exactly want a sequel.
Me not liking it isn't exactly a hot take, and has nothing to do with Sony.

I'll say it time and again. Maybe one day it will break through to a few. I've probably put more money into Sony's pocket than most of those on here who try to label me a Sony hater lol.

And I find it hilarious anyone on here feels the right to call anyone a hater/fanboy when the only reason 90% of the people here post in here is because this is a Playstation echo chamber lol

No arguments on death stranding being polarizing, i didnt even finish it if im being honest could without ds2 unless kojima takes it in a different direction.

Its more to do almost every comment i see has a thinly veiled shot at sony and as its exclusive it is a shot.

So its kinda hard to not come to that conclusion lol

Anyways lets just look forward to what kojima has planned with microsoft, im hoping its a return to form for him

Death Straining sucked, IMO! The graphics were fantastic, but the game didn't make me want to play through. It felt like a chore. Just like Red Dead Redemption 2 felt like a chore.

Later, in this thread you call me a "Sony Hater". 2 of my favorite games last gen are Zero Dawn, and GOW. I even said earlier this year Sony will probably get GOTY with Zero Dawn or GOW. I am also a huge fan of the Uncharted series, especially 4.

I basically had to force myself to slog through DS/DSDC just to get to the end of it. It's not a terrible game, but the delivery & logistics stuff is very boring. I basically found myself just playing through it because Kojima's name is on the box.

Hopefully with this new one he offers something more in line with MGS, or a horror game.

Just as long as people don't try to fake petitions again, to make it look like people are more angry about this than they really are, I think xbox fans should look forward to this. A lot of them had some pretty bad words for Death Stranding, maybe Kojima will come up with a FPS, or some cloud/mtx hybrid that's gamepass friendly for the xboxers.

Fake or not, that petition has as of now about 1.858 signatures. So yes, there´s lots of people jealous/uncomfortable with Kojima working with Xbox on an exclusive game.

For what I been seeing and hearing you could multiply that number for at least 3x if you consider that it might well be a Horror game from Kojima. Some people will go mad in some weird denial state and start to attack you for no reason, as if the possibility of this happen simple can´t exist.

Most Playstation owners don't care about Kojima either, dude. His latest game, Death Stranding, sold about 5 millions copies between Playstation and PC. Just a small fraction out of millions as you point out.

Besides, it´s not just about some fake petition, like PorkChop also pointed out: Kojima Productions had to manifest and reasure the Playstation community that they still has a good partnership with Sony, amid the controversy, accusations of treason and multiple threats.

If you don´t see a problem with that, good for you. Carry on.

The petition was fake, sure. But there were and still are tons of comments and tweets from people claiming Kojima "betrayed" them and Sony. KojiPro had to put out an announcement that they're still working with Sony, that wasn't just because of some petition. It was because of the direct hate and threats they've been getting. It's childish. The man can make games with whatever partner he wants to.

I'm not really sure what to think, honestly. I feel odds are this will likely be a Death Stranding typed "exclusive" deal. What gives mild pause is that "partnership" is the only real word I've seen so far from them, and it's the same word Kojima Productions used in their tweet about reaffirming their relationship with PlayStation ("very good partnership"). Not entirely sure what partnership entails. Exclusive? Publishing? Support?

I always find it a bit weird when companies don't come right out and state what something is. I wonder if some scenarios require companies to stay vague. Maybe details haven't been firmed up on exclusivity yet, or there being some kind of contractual stipulation that if "x" sales aren't reached, it can go to other platforms down the line or something.

I'm happy to hear Kojima is doing something new regardless. It just doesn't feel, to me, like the door is entirely closed for other platforms just yet.

Probably not. They had nothing to show, and Overdose already has a demo and a logo. Microsoft wouldn’t hold back in showing something, even if concept.

Overdose was originally meant to release on stadia though before their whole first party project was scrapped, so it’s a possibility given the cloud-based nature of the game.

I mean, statistically speaking, the majority of XB1 and PS4 gamers have held off on buying any current gen console.

Buying both is the way to go though, then you get everything, until everything is on PC (which it looks like 'very soon' is the answer there) - then you just buy a PC or SteamDeck.

I can't believe there are people out there that feel so strongly about a game dev making game for any system to go as far as to send him hate tweets and sign petitions, wtf? Look I like games as much as the next person, but this is plain ridiculous, I wish I would take my time to go sign a petition for something so inconsequential. Kojima is a person with a company that needs to make money or have a vision he felt could only be realized with the tech at MS. He is not your friend or personal game maker, the audacity for people to shame him and make him have to apologize or reassure people because of their deep-seated personal nonsensical bias.

Yes, you are correct, think about it for a sec..Imagine having to juggle all the guns and make sure they don't fall all over the place, you ever wondered how characters in games carry all their equipment? well, wonder no more. Then as you progress you can construct better ways to carry and transport the guns and whatever else generic crap you have to deliver, carefully placing each gun and crap equipment so they don't topple over. I think they should get a famous celeb to be the star..Henry Cavil? Imagine how cool it would be to see him balancing in a T-pose, check out them pecs bro. Oh wait, one more idea, you should have a tank strapped to your chest filled with seamen!

I will probably hold off for the director's cut where you can make slip and slides and get around faster. I hope they nail the pure joy of using the slip and slide apparent on the character's face, arms and legs in the air as he slides. This would be epic..day one!
