Overhyped trash getting a sequel , people act they like this game but it was one of the worst releases in that era

Shadowsteal1094d ago

What benefit is there to "act" likeing a game?

Jawsh6661094d ago

Pretty hard for a game that had no hype to be "overhyped". The game was solid and had its fans and apparently there were enough of them to warrant a sequel. No need to whine about it.

Seriously though, i know it's a shocker, but different people like different games. You like Outlast or Resident Evil (or Paradise Eve, or whatever) and other like Dragon's Dogma (for many reasons, mind you). And it's fine. Don't act like you know better then everybody else or something, it makes you look like a close-minded person who can't accept different opinions.

RedDevils1093d ago

Why are you always so negative? Seem like you have problems other than gaming.

Lionsguard1093d ago

You're not entirely wrong. Upon release, it was quite lukewarm to negative but people have really warmed up to it over the years. I was one who passed on it due to reviews but one free Gamefly subscription later had be buying the game outright because it was much better than reviews made it out to be and is a great example of how reviewers can be terribly wrong. More people over the years gave the game a chance and have found the same conclusions. In fact, I bought the game 3 more times later, Dark Arisen, PC version, and Switch.

anast1093d ago

Nice work. Simple but effective.

MajorLazer1093d ago

Okay, mate. Back under your bridge you go.

Dudeson1093d ago

This guy here got his ass handed by the first goblins he encountered and never got any further, never got to experience the epic moments of this game.

OneLove1093d ago

Well damn. My bad for enjoying the first one.

jznrpg1093d ago

This was a surprise that came out of nowhere and if you got to the later stages of the game it had some amazing boss battles . The dragon fight was great !

pietro12121093d ago

My bad, I didn’t mean to enjoy the three times I played through it on multiple consoles. Shame on me for enjoying a game.

It's about time. To me this game is a system seller. Day one for me.

Crows901094d ago

Can't wait to see what they come up with. First had it's flaws for me but I can see Capcom fixing up all the systems and giving us something great...Capcom has improved drastically as a developer.

nitus101094d ago (Edited 1094d ago )

Two anoyances (this is subjective) come to mind:
1) Your party does talk alot. If I hear "Harpy" one more time I am going to scream:-)
2) Some (err many) of the "feach quests" were almost identical.

Those two nit-picks asside, overall I found Dragon's Dogma to be a very good game.

Chriswheeler221093d ago

The combat and endgame were awesome. The open world I'm hoping to be more expansive. Loved how night was dangerous and actually dark. Hope we see more dungeons and open world enemies

ABizzel11094d ago (Edited 1094d ago )

Platforms are likely PC/PS5/Series. It was one of the many games on the NVIDIA leak.

Nice to see it get a second chance, and I hope they go with a better art style whether a more semi-real animated style since the Netflix show did well apparently, or maybe we'll finally get Deep Down reimagined as Dragon's Dogma 2.

anast1093d ago

Semi-real animation would make it look like a Pixar movie, no thanks. I hope it looks more like Demon Souls than Toy Story.

ABizzel11093d ago

When I said semi-real animated style I meant more like cel-shaded realism or like this

https://techcrunch.com/wp-c...

Not toy story.

anast1093d ago

Maybe but it's still too cartoony for me. I would be disappointed.

CantThinkOfAUsername1093d ago

That'd be a great way of reusing Deep Down assets.

anast1093d ago

Exactly. I can get into this. I would genuinely be pissed if Dogma 2 looked like Zelda or Toy Story.

I never played this series but I only heard good things about it..
as a gamer who follows gaming news, I do not think capcom gave this the marketing it deserves. Still on my radar..

TheEroica130d ago

Didn't DD2 come out a year ago?

DivineHand125131d ago (Edited 131d ago )

Dragons dogma 2 is a good game. The biggest mistake Capcom made was allowing it to launch at 30 fps. When the game came out, all anyone was talking about was the performance of the game. The game has a dedicated fanbase and they should have given the sequel of the original the care it deserved.

Theyy did eventually improve the performance on console but many still do not know if you can play the game at 60 fps on base PS5 and Series X or if they need to buy a $700 console to enjoy this one game.

robtion130d ago

Yes I think the game is good but it didn't have the same impact as the original when it released. The pacing is very slow, it takes forever to travel anywhere and then what do you know, microtransactions to fast travel. Really scummy move.

MeteorPanda130d ago

....why do you lie? The stones are earned in game, if you just send ppl gifts, the max friendship is they leave gifts at your home where they leave these stones as a reward ften enough. Also there are the carts.

You ppl all attacked this game over nothing. scumbag,

Kurt Russell129d ago

I had no idea they had improved the performance, so your comment is valid to me.

Sonyslave3131d ago

Damn dont expect part 3 anytime soon😔

Gamehard130d ago

The director of the series left Capcom not long ago, so I think chances were already less than slim unfortunately. :(

Themba76131d ago

I’m enjoying it on my pro

Gamehard130d ago

I'm a big fan of the first game, and 2 was fun first time through, but the game really could use more in the way of replay value. Still holding out hope they release a DLC similar to bitterblack isle but I'm not holding my breath.
