There's still a week to go before we tuck into our turkeys and brussel sprouts, but speculation about the outcome of this year's Christmas Console battle is running rife. Although it's going to be a while before we see official figures for the complete festive period, there's a common consensus emerging: the PS3 is being handed is shiny black bottom.
At the end of the day, ordinary customers don't do the long and complicated maths, they look at the starting price tag, and that's where Microsoft has Sony well and truly beat.
From the mid-1980s to the early part of the 2000s, light gun rail shooters were a staple in both arcade and home system gaming. Arguably, the genre started to really hit its stride in the mid-1990s. While games like Time Crisis, Virtual Cop, and House of the Dead, among others, dominated both the home system and arcade space, some one relegated to only home game systems. Today, we’ll be talking about a little-known cult game published by Sony called Project: Horned Owl. This game was developed by Alfa Systems, and all in all, this is a fun game.
Game Rant interviews Plants vs. Zombies composer Peter McConnell about honoring the series’ quirky roots, adapting its themes, and now going vinyl.
The score for the first Plants Vs Zombies is such great, iconic music that it has a timeless quality. Not quite the level of Minecraft, but wonderful in its own right.
Celebrate Final Fantasy IX's 25th anniversary with the latest merchandise, including figurines of Zidane and Vivi, and a range of t-shirts.
They lost their lead in EU (Sony's 2nd homeland) since MSFT cut the price. In a couple of months Sony went from a slight lead on the 360 (they said it themselves) to being 1 million consoles behind MSFT.
Moreover they're getting outsold by hundreds of thousands every month in the biggest video game market of the planet since the price cut : USA
And last but not least their hyper mega exclusives (LBP , Motorstorm 2 , Resistance 2) arent selling as well as they were expecting.
At least they're outselling the 360 by 20 000 units a week in Japan.So there's still hope...
Good games + good price = what gamers are looking for.
@high defintion : nobody saying its doomed , just in for a very rough ride until the day the cut the price
Yes it is. That's the simple answer and what most people want to hear. So there, you win.
What's next for Microsoft
Giving 360's away with a Tenners worth of Fuel !!!
But at least you Get a Free RRoD with your Xbox you just Got at the Petrol Station
I think you will all be surprised when sony outsells xbox.
People are looking for bang for the buck. but if you can buy your kids a game system and you a bluray player then you kill 2 birds with one stone.
People are starting to see ps3 has more future to it lots more.
btw isnt xbox 1yr 4 moth ahead of ps3 so really the ps3 is killing the xbox by sales per time on market plus rrod is the only reason xboxes sell more monthly.
I was at gamecrazy last week monday a cust bought a new 360 and out of the box it rrod they were getting a new one. then I was there on thursday and the same guy was yelling at the store employees because he was swapping out his 3rd one and made them get it out and check it before they left, needless to say I was laughing to myself the whole time. Because I own 2 ps3 and sold my 3rd xbox long ago
And if Sony finish bottom this xmas what does that mean? oh yes that's right, nothing. With over 17 million PS3 owners, more buying each day and a stellar 2009 line up xmas 2008 will be a mere bit of gum on the bottom of someones show by Feb. No one will care. I dont why there is always such a big deal about who sells most, ok, so it would be different if ps3 had sold 2mill worldwide, but its not like that, the ps3 is doing very well and only 5 mill or so behind xbox - worlwide. Not bad for a year head start from the comp huh.
Xmas Smishmas, it really doesn't matter.
