Digital Foundry : If Series S represents the baseline for next-gen game development, can Steam Deck match its performance at lower resolutions?
Chris Brandrick writing for overkill asks, what if GTA played by the rules? "The Precinct tries it — and well, I can’t believe I enjoyed issuing parking tickets either."
It is all getting steamy on this week's GFN Thursday. The official and native GeForce NOW app is now rolling out for Steam Deck devices.
We also have six more games coming to GeForce NOW.
Shaz from Pixel Swish: "From the Asus ROG Ally X to the Lenovo Legion GO to the Steam Deck, we’ve gotten a lot of PC handhelds over the past few years. However, for as impressive and exciting as these PC handhelds are, they all fall shy in one way or another from my dream device."
steam deck is a sweet little kit. It is making me want to take up PC gaming again. I just bought the bundle of quantum break, recore and sunset overdrive for $15 and its nice the deck can play in 60fps where as even the series x is still limited to 30 (on qb and so). I swear the last PC game I really played was Half Life 2 (which plays awesome on the steam deck) but now I've already started getting games for it. I plan on getting god of war and spiderman to play on the go.
I was tempted to get one, but what I do now is just using Razer Kishi on my phone with Xbox cloud, why of course it is not as good, it is also like 1/10 of the cost.
Sometimes I use a controller clip with a dual sense controller, then I can do ps remote play, Xbox remote play, xcloud... all in one setup.
Again, not the same thing, but enough to stop me from spending the money for a steam deck.
it barely keeps up with the PS4.
I honestly don't really care for the new games coming out.
There's so many games on steam that I haven't played from past consoles and they go on sale quite often. Far cry, Fallout games, elder scrolls, Humble bundle just released a bundle with the dmc games and monster hunter world for 20 bucks, mass effect trilogy is on sale now too. It's insane lol
I still enjoy my vita. So I'd imagine the deck should have a long and fruitful life.
