Seriously? Don't change the gameplay and add quality of life improvements? What about story improvements what worked back than could definitely use a bit of an update

If the point of a remake is just graphics than remasters are fine. I really want them to use all their knowledge from prior RE games and add what worked in those to this remake

And maybe even add more content
There were some really frustrating parts to RE4 so I am excited to see what can be done

But they can give us both options. A classic mode and modern mode. Like Mafia remake offers everyone a way to play the game in classic mode if they want

100% this. If they just change the graphics, it's a simple reskin and texture upgrades. That's not what they're selling here and I'm glad. I want it brought up to modern standards while being sympathetic to the source material.

They'll get deep into the mechanics to bring in the PS VR2 element, so I think we can bank on all the modern benefits. Might as well tune it to the hilt, while you've got the hood up!

Especially remove all the baby sitting parts where you failed the mission because the AI partner was stupid

Remasters don’t upgrade the graphics like Remakes do. Take Shadow of the Colossus Remake PS4 vs Shadow of the Colossus Remaster on PS3.

@XiNatsuDragnel isn’t alone with wanting just a modernization of graphics. Now, for me, I want changes but not at the cost of cut content. Example being RE3 Remake and RE2 Remake to a degree (lab not being complete, no moth enemy or giant spiders in the sewer).

But, the only thing that got me to comment was Remasters are not the equivalent of a Remake’s visuals. Again, look at Shadow of Colossus Remake vs Remaster. 1:1 recreation with next-gen visuals.

I'm fine with them tweaking like they did with RE2 / 3. Naturally the controls need to be further updated. RE4 was the first time you had the ability to free aim, but it was still clunky as hell and I don't even know if you could move while aiming (not too sure).

Personally? I hope they go with a more horror route like they did with RE2R, and some changes to the story, additional scenarios etc would be beyond welcome, maybe.. add in some cut RE4 beta content other than the glorious outfits!

I think the original will always be there, so why not go heavy into a survival horror RE4?

Honestly it's wishful thinking oh my part. I don't think you can make re4 into a survival horror without changing the story the story to much.
