Wow, that reads like a great review. I enjoyed Until Dawn but only ever played it once due to other games around at the time.
This game looks very promising reading this and will definitely pickup a copy.

Interesting that when doing the retrospective on why XSX never really demonstrated better performance than PS5 that they never mention Cerny's tech discussion where he explained his take on why this would happen before release. They cover every possible scenario other than Cerny's. Don't know if they just think it's bullocks... certainly they couldn't have forgotten

Unfortunately it will be an always online console. Cloud powered and all. They tried with Crackdown and I get it CD or any game was too ambitious and Xbox One didn't nearly have the power to really pull off but now they could be full speed ahead especially knowing most ppl bought the S over the X.

DF seem to have questions regarding MS unconfirmed console. Rich doesn't see this as a true vision but a catch up to the PC instead. I say vote with your wallets 5 years down the line and I know nothing's final nor confirmed just be weary of MS plans if they do go off on the deep end again.

With that said it's just plans, nothing's confirmed or anything to be worried or excited about yet.

New Microsoft/Activision deal addresses previous CMA concerns in cloud gaming

The sale of Activision’s cloud gaming rights to Ubisoft substantially addresses previous concerns and opens the door to the deal being cleared, the CMA said today.

XiNatsuDragnel13h ago

A step 🚶‍♂️ in the direction.

Phil note to self “buy Ubisoft “

crazyCoconuts9h ago

exactly what i was thinking when i read this lol

Zeref8h ago

They're actually not allowed to buy Ubisoft. For 10 years at least lol

Workshyskiver12h ago

Well at least this drama will be over in the next few weeks. Got to laugh at the CMA though, clearly just looked for a way to save face and act like they achieved anything remotely meaningful.

Profchaos12h ago

I don't want it to stop so far we've seen deep behind the iron curtain I want more

You’re probably not aware that it was MS that went back to the CMA to find ways that it could make the deal pass. Easy to get lost in all of the false narratives that many people put out there.

“Microsoft President Brad Smith has shared a company statement on the move, as the Xbox owner begins "considering how the transaction might be modified" to make it work for the UK CMA.
Here's the full quote from Microsoft:
"After today's court decision in the U.S., our focus now turns back to the UK. While we ultimately disagree with the CMA's concerns, we are considering how the transaction might be modified in order to address those concerns in a way that is acceptable to the CMA.
In order to prioritize work on these proposals, Microsoft and Activision have agreed with the CMA that a stay of litigation in the UK would be in the public interest and the parties have made a joint submission to the Competition Appeal Tribunal to this effect."

Em I am intently aware that as soon as the FTC lost the judge ruling and it became clear that only the CMA was in a position to offer any meaningful opposition both the CMA and MS appeared to the CAT to ask for a stop to their appeal.

CMA's ruling was clearly flawed and nonsensical as was becoming apparent in the CAT hearings and this micky mouse Ubisoft deal is just a way for them to back down with saving some face

Regardless on anyones position on whether the merger should go ahead both the FTC and CMA have done nothing but makes themselves both look clueless about gaming.

raWfodog2h ago

Cool, just showing you what came directly from the MS source. It’s status quo to ignore facts these days.

-Foxtrot12h ago(Edited 12h ago)

After the FTC leaks and Microsofts long term plans...I just can't believe this got passed anywhere buuuut money talks I guess

PhillyDonJawn10h ago

Most of those plans are no longer possible

Zeref8h ago

What exactly leaked that you think should be detrimental to this deal?

-Foxtrot5h ago

The fact that they are power hungry and it’s clear they aren’t going to stop, going for a monopoly or close to it within the gaming industry

Have you been living under a rock?

MrDead11h ago

The power of money on show. When you're as rich as MS you get handed industries as a reward for being rich. We've all seen the evidence of what MS has planned and now there's nothing to stop them.

Remember you don't have to be any good to be competitive, you just need a rich parent company.
