GameSpy writes: "Nintendo's Wii continued its hardware sales dominance in 2008, and remains one of the hottest gifts for the holidays. Yet its software lineup didn't have quite as strong a hold over the GameSpy staff this year, thanks in part to an early start (Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii) petering out into a slack release schedule that couldn't keep pace with what was available on the 360 and PS3.
So what is it that's keeping the Wii at the top of holiday shopping lists? We think it's thanks in no small part to clever marketing and an approachability that the other platforms can't beat. You won't find senior citizen bowling leagues competing on the Xbox 360, and soccer moms just feel safer about bringing home a Nintendo Wii as opposed to a system known more for its violent shooters and "car jacking simulators." There's a world of difference between the hardcore gaming segment and the broader gaming market, and Nintendo has done a great job of capturing the hearts of that larger audience."
Just like you don’t ask a woman her age, you don’t ask a Final Fantasy fan how many games there are in total.
I don't quiet get who it's directed at. General player? Sure, I can believe them not knowing some of the less popular final fantasy games. But final fantasy FANS? There is nothing forgotten about these games.
