Cool little detail. This game continues to stun me with how much unseen stuff currently still is uncovered in the game, and yet when someone finds something new it’s like🤯

I certainly hope Rockstar goes the extra mile with GTA6, with all THIS attention to detail!

Would any of you like to see GTA adopt the gameplay mechanic from Days Gone, where you can run your vehicle outta gas? Haha, I just thought, how funny would it be if you take someone’s car (toss them out at a gas station not paying attention to the fact that this NPC has just pulled up to a gas station, let’s say civilians actually get out’ve their vehicles and pump their own gas lol) and you drive off, from an intense “on foot” chase by the cops (during random gameplay in the open world) and you think “Piss off, cops🤣🤣🤣 ; only to all of a sudden have your car stop 30 feet from where you were because that NPC never got the chance to get the gas needed... just an idea, maybe it’s awful lol, and a bit too realistic for many (knowing how many don’t like a lot of the realism in RDR2, which they feel restricts the player and makes it less fun) but I’m just throwing an idea out there.

roadkillers702d ago

Agree’d. Rockstar will most definitely go the extra mile. GTA5 still tops most realistic open worlds that have cars.

ClayRules2012702d ago

Yeah, I can’t imagine the living breathing world that GTA6 will be. If that Matrix Awakens demo is just an example/taste of what’s possible with the PS5/XSX (regardless of that demo running on the Unreal Engine5) I expect Rockstar to blow people with a fully, in development game, with all the intricate pieces showing why Rockstar (he’s hoping haha🤞🏻) is still the KINGS of open world games.

generic-user-name702d ago

I remember R* saying they toyed with the idea of having fuel for vehicles as early as maybe San Andreas or GTA IV (I can't remember for sure) but they seemed to imply it took away from the fun too much so didn't include it.

ClayRules2012702d ago

Oh ok. Thanks for sharing that bit of info. I can understand that, because it was annoying to some disagree in Days Gone; I won’t lie, however, it was still something I appreciated and added some intense moments during gameplay that I won’t soon forget.

I mainly want to see improvements in NPC AI. Make them less random, give them something of a routine. I know that's harder in game of this scale vs. something like Skyrim but the power is there to do it now.

Would also like online to be less of a mess and more cohesive. I know GTA Online is the product of a lot of features being slapped in over time but at this point the game is almost imprenetrable for new players.

Also want to see them finally fix the thing that's existed since GTA III where you'll see the same types of cars over and over again until you leave an area. There's no need for it given the load speeds and memory of current gen hardware.

Finally, better gunplay and controls in general.

ClayRules2012701d ago

Yes, I am with you on improvements to Ai. While the NPC is RDR2 have a daily routine while living in the world, I’d love to see that expanded on a good deal, while also providing a greater variety of unique looking NPCs in the world. And yeah, you’re right, the power is there now to take advance of this and really advance Ai technology in these games to the next level.

I’m with you on the online front, much work needs to be used there to iron somethings out, especially for how new players can jump on/in and have a great experience from the get go (against players who’ve been really playing and doing a lot to get to where they are) and don’t have it be that limited, knowing all the time and years they’ve had to develop the game, while also looking at their success on GTAV’s online (not how much they’ve brought in financially lol) but what worked(s) well and what needs improvement and what needs to go or doesn’t really have much value in the overall online experience.

That issue you want fixed with the cars, I know with UE5 and the Matrix Awakens demo a guy detailed the world, traffic flow, level of detail in the cars from close up to far away, and how it all runs (I think what you described with the same and different cars) was somewhat detailed in one video a guy on YT broke down with that demo. Maybe not exactly, but somewhat similar, I think.

And 💯 on the gunplay and controls overall. I enjoyed it on GTA5 and RDR2 (for most of the gunplay) and while the controls for Arthur weren’t an issue for me when playing it I do see areas that I think are a MUST in terms of change. Like getting rid of the “X” button to run/sprint.

zidane1341701d ago

Filling up cars with gas is painful enough, why add that in?

ClayRules2012701d ago

😂 I agree, it most certainly is. I just thought it could add another level of realism and would be something new, that would require some strategy for the player while doing whatever in the open world.

I would've preferred good controls or, you know... fun... but hey. Cool detail!

isarai701d ago

Yeah, like 1000000% GTAV and RDR2 are without a doubt legendary technical masterpieces that i doubt any game will reach in terms of attention to detail, technology and immersion. But they aren't that fun, RDR2 especially is just clunky and drags on a lot, this coming from someone who absolutely LOVES slower paced story centric games. Hell i love walking sims with a story focus, but RDR2 especially is like 80% just walking/riding to objectives, and both kneecap nearly every attempt of experimentation with their "simulations" to keep things grounded

itBourne701d ago (Edited 701d ago )

Been saying it for years, and have introduced countless Xbox fans what a good 3rd person game actually feels like (With Uncharted and Horizon), Rockstar's gameplay is beyond antiquated and a travesty to games, yet they have the Nintendo effect and can get away with anything... and it sucks too... I love everything else about RDR2... but its literally a massive hassle just to try and play the damn thing, they have freaking auto aim! Its like they self admit the controls are beyond terrible... So fun in multiplayer too, when you have people shooting you from a mile away with auto aim... great game design, I loved it...

isarai701d ago

It's especially frustrating given they made Max Payne 3, literally one of the best playing 3rd person shooters i've ever played to this day, yet somehow they fail to translate that to other games.

abstractel701d ago

Man Max Payne 3 is such an underrated game. Wish it had sold more. Still can't wait to see what Remedy does with it now that they have the license again. Control had awesome gunplay.

Deathdeliverer701d ago

I’ve actually known about this pretty early because it’s happened to me.

6 Games That Genuinely Deserve A Current-Gen Upgrade

Games such as Mad Max, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Batman: Arkham Knight desperately deserve a modern-day revisit.

thorstein9d ago

Mad Max is underrated. Such a fun game.

Cacabunga8d ago (Edited 8d ago )

RDR2 still looks astounding on PS4 Pro. i cannot imagine how it could look with a next gen upgrade.

JonTheGod8d ago (Edited 8d ago )

Probably not very different.

No idea why this article is highlighting recent beautiful graphically-advanced games and saying they need current gen makeovers. They already look better than most new releases; just compare Arkham Knight and Suicide Squad!

Yi-Long8d ago

It's obviously never gonna happen since Sony killed the game and studio, but Driveclub. Even in its current state, 10 years after release, it still puts many competitors to shame ...

Demetrius7d ago

I'm not into racing games but yeah I even looked at gameplay of that sometimes

Demetrius7d ago

Mad max ikr! Far cry primal, it amuses me how ubisoft just left ac unity hanging, sadly most of the good staff left from rocksteady while being forced to make that abomination smh

hmm kinda out there i find red dead 2 a over hyped game i am sure there are other's out there worthy of this award.

Are we saying rdr 2 mp is better than the first one?

The cover shooting better on #2 than #1?

I mean they reused 80% of rdr 1 map on rdr 2

smolinsk26d ago

Red Dead Redemption 1 was better. A better story that's for sure but the world in red Dead Redemption 2 is fantastic. But overall yes Red Dead Redemption 2 is overhyped but with best living World ever made.

just_looken26d ago (Edited 26d ago )

Oh rdr 2 world how you leave tracks what you can do and the npc's are great no doubt

For me its the forced guns one way to play missions and the camp you can do nothing be a ass and there is no change sense none of the hunting/donating.bounty/karma etc even taking care of your horse matters. Then you got the horse inventory along with them bringing in realistic inventory but at the same time have that slomo crap pick a lane is it a wild west sim or a max payne rip off.

shinoff218326d ago (Edited 26d ago )

Plus who cares about the mp. Single player is where it's at.

I don't think it's the best sequel either. I liked it but I can see why some say it's overhyped. That's because it was. Great game still. I'd take xcom 2 as a better sequel. I'm sure there's plenty others.

just_looken26d ago

We care about mp because of gta v even if you been living under a rock you know what gtao did to gta v dlc.

Though rdr 2 mp failed it still put time/resources and budget away from the single player for a subpar experience compared to the first.

lucasnooker27d ago

Hmmm don’t know about that one myself. There’s some good sequels there….

No way last of us 2 was a better sequel than the original resident evil 2. The story of TLOU2 was a huge let down for me!

Assassins creed 2 was a vast improvement over the original and still the very best of the entire franchise imo.

Half-life 2 will always be legendary.

RDR2 is great but the best sequel ever? I don’t think so… just my opinion though I guess

shinoff218326d ago

Shoot down last of us 2 but bring up assassins creed 2. What in the world.

anast27d ago

Last of Us 2 would be mine and Dark Souls 3 has to be up there.

raWfodog26d ago

I also enjoyed TLOU2 but RDR2 edges it out for me. Both hit me in the feels but RDR2 just a little bit more lol.

anast26d ago

RDR2 is an excellent game. One of my top 10 of all time.

SimpleSlave26d ago

Sure, if you started playing game yesterday and just for this series. Otherwise? lol... No.
