Evil Dead The Game Solo/Single Player Gameplay

CG writes: Here we take a look at the just released Evil Dead The Game solo/single player gameplay in which players can play alone or with AI controlled team mates. Doing so nets you zero XP and progression though. AI companions aren’t the most intelligent of players either. Still, they do serve as distractions and will help you if downed. The game is available now on PC via Epic Games Store and consoles.

It’s funny how much of this game’s coverage has been around the single player.

It’s almost as if that type of evil dead game would be received better.

Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick (2003) wasn't well received and that was a single player hack n slash game.

senorfartcushion709d ago

Ok? So? Different year, different game, different devs, different culture

bunt-custardly709d ago

@senorfartcushion You are amused why coverage seems to be focused on single player. I am giving you a reason why. A desire for a decent single player Evil Dead game perhaps?

I don't get why there hasn't been a good one, Bruce Campbell would happily voice him and they could either do their own story/universe or go off the ending for Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 since we'll never get Season 4.

If it was a single player only game I would have interest.

CrimsonWing69345d ago

Yea, this is literally what I was coming here to post, too.

I’m not knocking that it isn’t fun or anything, but I have no interest in asymmetrical MP games and had this had a story and decent production value, I’d have bought it Day 1.

I wish this game had a single player mode and included a continued story of when ash got stuck in the future (the original ending of army of darkness.)

TGG_overlord362d ago

I want a single player mode as well ;) That would be pretty neat indeed.

HeliosHex362d ago

@TGG. I still remember how bad ass his car looked right out of a mad max movie too.

Bathyj362d ago

Ok you can't just call a game Game of the Year Edition because it has all the DLC, which I'm assuming is what this is.

ModsDoBetter362d ago

Yep, it’s a strange trend, which Ubisoft are pretty bad for as well. Whilst this game is good as das as asymmetrical multiplayer games go, it’s a far cry from game of the year.

Huge fan of the movies and Bruce Campbell, and I even like the series, but they dropped the ball on this one by making it a live service. I don't think it even got 1 GOTY vote.

I love Evil dead its my favourite horror franchise, they needed to make this a single player game with a single player campaign, making it MP like this is just such a let down.
