It's not about believing what anyone wants to believe it's just logic and facts. If they're going to have any games that release this year they will be announced with dates at their show on June 12th so we'll find out what they have in a month, and they announced Forza Motorsport 5 and launched it in the same year, so any games launching in 2022 will be announced at this show.

That's not to say 2022 isn't looking barren for them because it is. So far what's "left" is:

STALKER 2 (possibly getting delayed)
Ark 2 (possibly getting delayed)
Scorn (looks like a poor man's Doom)
Lost Eidolons (looks like a poor man's PC RTS)
Somerville (a unique indie)
Little Witch in the Woods (another indie)
Immortality (an interactive trailer, so I wouldn't even count this as a game)
And maybe Forza Motorsport especially if the rumors are true that it's a cross-gen game.

So their 2022 line-up is looking pretty poor, but again the show will confirm or improve it. At this point I don't even know why it's being called the Xbox + Bethesda show since the two big Bethesda games for the year aren't going to be released this year. I guess they'll still show the games, and maybe some other projects, but it seems like GamePass is going to carry Xbox in 2022 until they can bank on the Activision deal, and if that goes through then GamePass is going to be flooded with Activision games that month.

It is a slow start, but there's no doubt the Series X will get a ton of exclusives by 2023 or perhaps 2024. At some point all the acquistions will pay off.

I'm not defending the lack of games in recent years. But if we look at studios owned by MS and games released in the last 2-3 years, there's a significant amount of stuff, so logically we'll get a tighter release schedule at some point.

But it's going to take time, that's the downside of buying studios and publishers that have pripr commitments. When they bought Inxile, they had to wait for them to finish a third party game they were currently working on, same with Obsidian, most Bethesda studios and Double Fine.

I'm not too impressed by their output so far, but there's no way it can continue. Unfortunately game development takes time and MS didn't seem to be particularily prepared for Series X. But at some point they'll get the ball rolling.

At the ens of the day iibought the xsx for it exclusives and right now there is absolutely nothing on the horizon on that front. It will effectively be a diust collextor this year.

Mean while from sony and nintendo iv had pokemon arceus, kirby, gt7 and horizon on top of 3rd pafty games like elden ring and neither sony or nintendo are done fkr the year as ill have xeno blade 3 and the new pokemon later this year along with forspoken and god of war.

People say this a lot, but I think it's as simple as the game just not being ready yet. When it comes to software in general, delays are expected. The thing is, when it comes to video games they are announced way before they are ready to generate hype/excitement.

It sucks because obviously you want the game to come out and from a publisher/manufacturer standpoint you want to avoid droughts, but if a game truly isn't ready it's best to delay. No point in releasing an unfinished game, you'll just hurt your reputation doing so.

Absolutely, I usually get the next gen consoles a few months after release. But this time I didn't, I stuck with my Xbox One X and PS4.

The only reason I recently bought a Series X was because I mentioned it to a friend who worked at Best Buy that I was interested in one but they're always sold out. He then saw one in his store and quickly bought it for me...so I had to pay him back.

But I would have seriously just held off on both next gen systems until at lat next year.

Halo infinite was a pure example of them rushing the game out when it needed more time. I blame 343i for that mess, love the game cause it's so fun but it should have been delayed.

If a game is not fully complete don't release it cause I'm tired of this we will just patch the game later stuff.

I understand exclusives are indeed an important aspect of a console, but why are some people saying no games to play on Xbox? That statement is so false, there is plenty of 1st and 3rd party games, 1,000 to choose from and GP has over 400+ of them with games being added monthly, some being day 1 releases.

What if someone just likes the Xbox eco-system better or that is where their friends play? What if a game is better on Xbox? I'm not saying it's not bad that these games got delayed, but why in recent times people make it seem like 1st party games are the only thing to play on these systems? Exclusives used to be a bigger driving force behind moving systems, I would say that has diminished to a degree. Consoles offer incentives now, like GP and PS+, faster loading, BC, monthly free games, accessible options, and currently what they can get their hands on.

Anyways, I hope MS knows it better have a hell of a Showcase next month.

This is extremely disappointing news. Microsoft had has so many studios but the only ones that have released something so far are the usual turn10 and 343. The consequences of this delay could even effect playstation fans as Sony is now in a position where they are able to safely delay God of War until next year.
Microsoft better have a damn good e3 conference because the Xbox series consoles are nearly 2 years old and we can only point to 2 major exclusives being released for the platform so far.

For the record 2 years after launch is November 2022. Redfall and Starfield are now "first half 2023" which can be any point into next JUNE.

If you go year by year for exclusives 2020, 2021, 2022.... Sony has completely dominated the "why should you buy this new console?" question.

Not really aimed at Bethesda here but for Xbox in general... Spencer & Booty has been in charge long enough now that it's definitely on them that we are heading into year 3 of the current gen and Xbox Studios output has been pretty poor. Microsoft are supposedly really hands-off with their developers which can be good, but at some point, someone needs to actually manage these studios.

State of Decay 3, Perfect Dark, Everwild all having big issues, Halo Infinite presumably had major issues too in development and other recent examples such as Crackdown and Fable Legends. They need a Rod Ferguson type figure who can come in and project manage

As an XSX owner and xbox follower (I also own PS systems), I can say, XBOX sucks...They are worthless, the only thing they do is release the same crappy racing game and stupid shooters, Gears, Halo or Forza, the last generation and now the current have been abysmal. The only thing I like is the controller, if only PS would just design a controller with customizable stick placement, that would be awesome. That said, each generation I buy a new adapter that allows me to use the Xbox controller instead. Said it before saying it again, MS$ (XBOX) is nothing more than the promise of Dragons and instead getting Floppy wieners.

My take is they will announce Deathloop deluxe edition, Forza 8, and the official launch of Grounded (it's still in Beta).
As for the trump card, I expect MS to throw some money around and announce that Call of duty will launch day1 on Gamepass.

I have no desire to play this game, but this is good news. I previously believed that the game would release no matter what later this year, even though it would have been clearly unfinished. Hopefully now when it does release it'll be in good shape, and not a typical unpolished Bethesda mess.

Game delays are not worth getting upset over. However admittedly, there's hardly anything exciting to play on Xbox platforms, and its been that way for a very long time. What a shame. For the people who want to play high quality games, please look into past PC and console generations to tide you over, there's an endless supply of amazing games from the past, from 8-bit NES and Master System up to the early HD era of PS3 and Xbox 360.

Starfield has been long in devolpmenr before Xbox bought them. It's also almost the new normal with games being delayed and I think most knew they choose that date wanting to have a marketing person's wet dream.

Red dead 2, Zelda were delayed and for the better, cyberpunk was delayed and was a mess so time will tell if this delay was used well to polish the game.
