A remaster would also save you from having to constantly fight the camera.
Keep the music though. Those drum and bass tracks fit really well and haven't aged. Made me think that more games could work well with drum and bass tracks, but unfortunately it's a somewhat niche genre now.

I don't think they fully sidestep the ending of Dying Light the Following in Dying Light 2, I'm pretty sure the virus escapes Harran because of Kyle Crane and it's referenced a few times if I remember correctly but Dying Light 2 goes for the more indirect approach where it isn't explicitly stated but it's not a huge leap to come to this conclusion if you've played the previous game.
