I currently don't have a VRR capable display but its nice to know if I get one the PS5 supports, it will also work with the Series X. You can't say the same thing the other way around.

Eonjay1137d ago

If you get a TV thats worth a damn it will work on both.

exactly, it would be easy to cheap out but Id rather get one that does both: https://mp1st.com/guides/ps...

@darthv72 Why did you spam-post that same comment here? https://n4g.com/news/247752...

It's a very well worded but indirect way of proclaiming one product as better than another.

I posted there first but this piece seems more appropriate for it. And picking a tv for both is better but it means i have to really be selective instead of getting a cheap VRR set that may work for one but not both. Lg looks to be the one to get.

there is a pretty nice selection for when the time is right: https://mp1st.com/guides/ps...

Hopefully we can see less emphasis on it in comparisons now, performance analysis videos from DF were rapidly turning into "PS5 still doesn't have VRR" videos and focusing less on the actual performance of titles.

I'm curious what kind of percentage of the user base of these systems have access to VRR enabled displays, because we don't need the "but VRR..." response to become an excuse for choppy and unstable framerates that will be experienced by the majority of players who don't have access to it's benefits.

Eonjay1137d ago

The thing is we don't actually really want VRR to be needed period. We would like it for what Insomniac is doing with uncapped framerates. You still should be trying to get your game to work for the 90% of people who don't have VRR first.

EvertonFC1137d ago

TV wise you're probably looking at less than 1% with VRR capable TVs.

Neonridr1137d ago (Edited 1137d ago )

I have a PS5 and an LG OLED C9. VRR is a MUCH welcome addition for me finally. I realize I don't represent the masses, but missing out on a feature I would have had if I had chosen the other plastic box definitely left me wanting more. It's not a need to have though, but definitely a nice to have now that it's here.

Xbox Series X does it better

Eonjay1137d ago

This is actually true (at least at this point) and its a good thing because Xbox titles need it more from what we have seen thus far.

Aloymetal1137d ago

According to you guys, the xbox brand does a lot of things better, too bad the majority of home console gamers around the planet don't even care.

purple1011137d ago

Haha. Everything better.

Except the games.

FyBy1137d ago

I just want to turn on tv and console and play with some level of comfort. Both consoles can do it. Thats great.

ironmonkey1137d ago

100 years later and still in last place. Not better.
