Assassin’s Creed Games Ranked From Worst To Best

The Games Cabin Writes" With so many games, it's not easy to put these in order. Assassin's Creed is one of the biggest series of games and made a huge mark on gaming in general because where would we be without watchtowers. I won't be including spin-off games like Freedom Cry or Liberation for this list either. Now to get started."

I agree with this list. I liked Valhalla more than i thought i would.

robtion1110d ago

It's very subjective. I love Black flag as a pirate simulator (although there are terrible steal auto-fail if seen sections). I think Odyssey is the best game overall, just did so much right. Origins egypt setting is not far behind and Valhalla is also up there. I really liked Syndicate especially the zip lines but also for the London setting, improved stealth, boxing sections, and amazing graphics at the time it came out. Back at release AC2 was the best, though it has aged now.

Again it's all down to personal preference with the AC games.

Rogue to me is better then Unity. Unity is buggy besides in Rogue you play as a templar hunting Assassin's and to me Syndicate is also better then Unity as well. I played Unity for an hour and stopped because of the bugs and I hate Arno.

SDuck1109d ago

Idk when you played it but Unity nowadays has less bugs than Odyssey or Origins (I have Origins screenshots of that famous Unity face bug to back me up). The parkour makes it the best free roam in the series but I can't disagree with your opinion on Arno. Played the game twice but never finished it due to lack of interest in the story

Orbilator1110d ago

Nope I don't agree with that list at all, Black Flag was the worst game and the sailing sections ruined the game franchise for me and it's why Valhalla isn't high up on my list either I don't want a boat SIM.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Assassin’s Creed Revelations were better games AND better Assassins Creed games than Origins, Valhalla and Odyssey

While I loved Black Flag it was the first game which, despite great, didn't feel like an Assassins Creed game.

Assassins Creed II
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
Assassins Creed Revelations
Assassins Creed Black Flags
Assassins Creed (I know it has it's flaws but it established the franchise)

Chocoburger1109d ago (Edited 1109d ago )

I'll keep it simple, there further we go back, the more I like the series, and the more recent we head towards, the less I like the series.

I loved the first 5 games (ending with III). They all have flaws for sure, but there was lore that I was interested in. After ACIII, the lore died, and nothing mattered anymore. I still had fun with BF / Rogue / Unity / Syndicate, but it was becoming stale, repetitive, and quality control was dropping (yearly releases was clearly harming the franchise).

Then Origins was revealed and I saw the constant loot boxes, massive skill tree, endless EXP grinding, boring environments, and worst of all, the trajectory the series was heading. A trajectory which was all about wasting your time with filler, padding, EXP grinding, resource collecting, throwaway characters and plots.

It was the first game in the series I didn't buy, instead I rented it (for free) from Redbox multiple times until I beat it. I gave it a fair chance, got the Platinum trophy, but wasn't impressed, the only aspect about the game I liked was Layla but she was underused, I wanted to learn more about her, and play as her instead of Bayek. I told myself if the sequel was going to sideline Layla yet again, then I'd be done with the series for good.

Google offered me AC: Odyssey for free (for playtesting their new Stadia platform), I beat it, and once again wasn't satisfied with the story, world, gameplay, constant filler, music, nothing. Yet again they sidelined Layla, and that was it. I haven't touch Valhalla and someone would have to pay me to play it, Ubisoft purposely went out of their way to ruin one of my favorite IPs out of greed.

They purposefully artificially extend the length of the game to discourage selling the game disc, and to encourage buying from their micro-trash-action store. EXP upgrades, resource upgrades, weapon upgrades, new costumes, ugh. GROSS! All for what? To play a buggy, generic, cliched, repetitive, filler, open world action game? No thank you.

Make something fresh, unique, write an interesting story instead of a generic revenge plot, and leave out the grind and greedy game design aspects, and maybe, just maybe, I'll reconsider playing an Ubisoft game. HA! As if that'll ever happen.

Assassin's Creed: The Argument For a Total Franchise Reboot

They already did that in 2017 with origins. I don’t think a reboot is on the cards when Ubisoft is about to go down under lol

I hope the splinter cell remake sees the light of day before the company closes

Inverno71d ago

I doubt they'll be closing, but they are primed to be eaten up by a bigger comp. Also 2017 was nearly a decade ago, it could use another reboot or rather it should just be retired.

RaidenBlack70d ago

Origins was the reboot.
But that also alienated the original AC lovers, abit. Not everybody adores the perma-change of the IP to be vast RPGs.
What I instead propose is, alternate between Valhalla/Shadows type AC RPGs and Mirage/ACII like non-RPG releases.

PrecursorOrb71d ago

It’d be nice if they made parkour feel new

monkey60271d ago

Put the series to bed, It's tired! Revisit your stagnant properties.

What do you do when you've already milked everything dry

Noskypeno70d ago

What is old might feel new again. A new splinter cell with semi open levels but still having a linear structure (not just one giant open world) that have multiple paths to complete the objective but still have stealth be the main priority would feel fresh, especially with modern graphics and military gadgets .

FinalFantasyFanatic71d ago

I agree, from anecdotal evidence, all franchises eventually stagnate, it might be a good time to start something new.

PRIMORDUS71d ago

"it might be time for a reboot." No it might be time to put this shit to rest for a few yrs. A good 4-5 then come back.

Profchaos71d ago

Total franchise reboot. This ac game is basically the hail Mary to keep Ubisoft alive if this fails the share price will be so low they will be forced to sell and likely absorbed into another org as the Ubisoft name carries almost no weight.

Don't get me wrong they will end up selling after ac regardless but it will be the difference of getting the deal they want vs the deal they don't

Tell me how that's going to be significantly different than colonial America. AC is about showcasing different cultures throughout history. They already did Native Americans in AC3, so then just cowboys, outlaws, ranchers, etc? Kinda feel like there's already a game out there that does that really freaking well. Hmmm, maybe the one in the thumbnail?
