Nickelodeon approached Streets of Rage 4 devs first for new TMNT game

From TheLoadOut: "One of the most surprising and exciting game announcements for 2022 came in the form of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge – a throwback brawler reminiscent of Konami’s classic arcade co-op beat ‘em ups. It was exciting news not only for its nostalgic look and feel, but also because of the attachment of publisher Dotemu, the company behind 2020’s stellar Streets of Rage 4.

Now, it’s been revealed in a studio profile by Edge in the latest edition that it was thanks to Streets of Rage 4, as well as Dotemu’s remake of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, that the company caught the eye of the TMNT license holders in the first place. “Nickelodeon came to us for Ninja Turtles,” Cyrille Imbert, CEO of Dotemu, says when discussing the difficulty of getting the rights to work on such famous IPs."

Sweet.Noe Hasbro needs to approach Dotemu and let them make a new Power Rangers beat em up

josh-eh799d ago

YES!!!

A new mighty morphin power rangers beat em up by the streets of rage team would be a dream come true. One can dream! I know this will never happen but a Sailor Moon or X-Men one would also be amazing.

Come on, 90's beat em up revivals!!

Uh oh, Xbox Revealed the New TMNT: Shredder's Revenge DLC a Little Early

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is one of the most popular beat 'em ups of the last few years, so it came as no surprise when the game received a DLC entitled "Dimension Shellshock." What did come as a surprise, however, is when Xbox published a trailer for a second DLC called "Radical Reptiles." No press release was sent out, and the DLC isn't available just yet," says Co-Optimus.

I wasn’t excited or interested when I saw the 2 new characters (don’t know them, don’t look very appealing), but I notice it’s only 4 bucks orso, so might pick it up. Recently bought the game so haven’t even played it much yet though.

Probably the answer I already know... the big game here is AEW. Is it any good?

Recent reviews: mostly negative

VincentVanBro346d ago

Maybe for you mate lol Streets of Rage 4 is a banger, especially with 4 friends in couch co-op. And SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a great platformer. AEW is very poorly rated though.

P_Bomb346d ago

I platinumed it. It’s alright tbh, but you gotta be a fan going in. Know the peeps.

I've been playing... it's below average. No Mercy still has a better career mode.
