Punch-Out!! has been around since the dawn of Nintendo time, and for that reason nearly every closet N-fan out there has been getting hyped for its eventual 2009 release.
But what's needed in a Punch-Out!! game? No, IGN is not talking about Wii MotionPlus, online, voice chat, or any of that. Sure, they want it, but that's not the point.
These are the true, must-have, Fundamental Elements of Punch-Out!!. 20 years later, NES still sets the standard.
The Punished Backlog's David Silbert writes:
"Nintendo is widely known for its deep, eclectic well of beloved franchises. From The Legend of Zelda to Wrecking Crew, there’s no library in gaming as rich in history or as popular among fans.
2019 is shaping up to be a banner year for Nintendo, with representatives from Mario, Fire Emblem, Zelda, and Pokémon all gracing the Switch platform before the year’s end. At the same time, there are still plenty of Nintendo franchises that lie dormant this generation, in desperate need of the “Switch treatment.”
While there are plenty of legendary series worthy of a revival, here are six in particular I would absolutely kill to see on Switch in the near future."
A new Golden Sun and Mother would be great, but I wish I wasn't the only one that wants a new StarTropics.
Colin Punches Above His Weight Class And Checks Out Punch Out! On The Wii U eShop!
Hardcore Gamer: Last week’s Nintendo Direct was a fantastic one for 3DS and Wii U owners, with one of the coolest things being the reveal of retail Wii games being sold digitally on the Wii U eShop. What made that even better was a massive deal for the first week of a game’s availability that would slash the price by 50% – taking them down to $9.99. The first game on sale was Super Mario Galaxy 2, and this week’s offering is Punch-Out!
Put him back in the game.
