VGChartz's Evan Norris: "As an exhibit on the early history of Taito, and a glimpse into some of the unheralded arcade experiences of the early to mid 1980s, Taito Milestones is interesting indeed. As a collection of games, however, it's somewhat less enticing. There are a few gems here, including Alpine Ski, Halley's Comet, and The Ninja Warriors, but also several middling or clunky titles. They might be milestones, but they're far from essentials."
VGChartz's Evan Norris: "For those of you who missed it, Taito Milestones launched last week. A collection of ten Taito arcade games from the early-to-mid 1980s, Milestones is a historically-intriguing collection with an uneven assortment of games. Some are entertaining enough to potentially find a spot in your regular rotation; some are fun only for a few sessions; and some are just too clunky to enjoy, even if they're interesting in their novelty...
I've ranked all ten games in Taito Milestones below, in order from weakest to strongest. Enjoy!"
Milestones is kinda like the Atari collections. A ton simple "nostalgic" quarter-pissers and one title actually worth playing more than a launch or two.
The Ninja Warriors was one of their biggest and most expensive creations at that time. The visual and sound quality and great coop made this a crowd-gathering center piece back in the day.
Games Asylum: "Taito Milestones is a collection of 10 games, with absolutely no context whatsoever.
You’re presented with a menu – a weirdly orientated timeline – of the games to pick from, and away you go. Why are these particular games in this collection? What milestones did they represent? What did their arcade cabinets look like? Google it, I guess."
Taito Milestones features ten of the company's classic hits in one convenient package. However, it's pretty bare-bones.
