Neil writes: "It's been a good twelve months for Awaken Realms Digital and their infinitely replayable, deckbuilding roguelike Tainted Grail: Conquest. After picking up some serious acclaim on PC, it's that game which now tries its hand on Xbox and Game Pass."
Oliver writes: "If you are a fan of roguelites, deck builders, Arthurian mythology, you could do far worse than checking Tainted Grail: Conquest out."
Joseph writes- Tainted Grail: Conquest invokes the very best principle when it comes to the rogue-lite genre. Player choice and making it matter.
Joe LaRue of The Koalition writes: When it comes to deck-building games, I have a long history. I have been playing deck-building games since 1993 when a man named Richard Garfield and Wizards of the Coast released a game called Magic the Gathering. I have dabbled in every deck-building game that has come out since from time to time and for the most part, I have enjoyed my experiences. When I heard that Awaken Realms Digital was releasing a different version of their deck-building game Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon, I was excited. I have spent time playing this deck-building board game and wanted to know what the difference would be.
This game is rogue-lite done right. It has a great progression system as you unlock ability cards, quest cards, passives, player characters, NPCs for your village (each with their own perm upgrades/items for sale). It's also procedurally generated maps including NPCs with side quests. When you die, you can grab a small perk to start over with (2xheal pots, more starting money, etc). The music and atmosphere are awesome, and the game just entices you in for another run. I've only played five hours, but loving every bit of it!
