'Kid Icarus: Uprising’s' Story Soars High Above Nintendo’s Other Narratives

Nintendo has always been known for flaunting fine-tuned gameplay over full-blown narratives, however, Kid Icarus: Uprising literally flipped the script as it shined with its writing, story, and characters above all else.

I have to agree.
This game blowed my mind away at its time,
It was so epic in that little screen was pure magic. A real portable AAA game!

Nintendo 3DS Games We Still Love Playing Even Today

BLG writes: "While it didn’t sell as well as the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo 3DS was nonetheless a wonderful system. And, while this may be a hot take, it’s easily my favorite handheld. Even more than a decade removed from launch, the system’s library has so many titles that feel as fresh today as they did back at release. While it was hard to narrow down, these 30 Nintendo 3DS games are emblematic of the system’s success."

That's not Nintendo's style though. Nintendo has always focused on fun above anything else. Deep, profound, cinematic games don't really fit Nintendo. We have Sony and others for those types of experiences. Nintendo should just stick to what they've always excelled at.

So you mean, they should not even try? For how long would they sit in their comfort zone?

They are the only major game developer that still approach game development in a "classical" sense - if we want to say such an approach exists. I have no issue with them not being the 50th dev to deliver a cinematic driven game.

I like Nintendo's "gameplay is king" approach. Breath of the Wild for example obviously has a lore behind it, but you don't need to understand it in-depth to enjoy the game.

If you want those "cinematic experiences", games like Metro and Wolfenstein are available on Switch.

Exactly!!!! I've been always a PS user but a year ago I bought a Switch, the games may not have "Cinematic feel" but the gameplay is always amazing and fun and it's centered around that and expanding upon that, so in my opinion they have their own style. For cinematic stuff I return to PS.

Loading time. PS5 will finally fix that.

Very true. They need to get out their comfort zone and expand into new IP and new genres.
