Elden Ring Has Secret Walls, and One Takes 50 Hits to Break Down

There seems to be an Elden Ring secret wall that took 50 hits to break down with evidence that more are hidden in the game.! And it seems the type of weapon used does matter whether it breaks or not.

Double post

phoenixwing1174d ago

Seriously? I'll just leave the wall there at that point lollol

uth111173d ago

Now they tell us! I've only found one actual secret wall so far. Wonder how many I missed

_Decadent_Descent1173d ago

I've been pretty adamant about swinging on walls to check and have found a few, but I know I've missed many, especially this one. Never would think to swing another 49 times hoping for it to just disappear. LoL

Eidolon1173d ago

Dude, now I'm wondering about the messages saying there is a secret passage.

seanpitt231172d ago

Definitely a bug of some sort it’s not intentional..

luckytrouble1173d ago

Based on the examples, this looks like a glitch, not a secret. Usually hidden walls lead somewhere you can't get otherwise. The prime example doesn't do that. Just looks like a developer accidentally assigned durability to some walls.

sinspirit1173d ago

I don't think so. If they weren't meant to be broken then they would be static models of the environment and not entities separate from the wall they're a part of

luckytrouble1173d ago (Edited 1173d ago )

Because sometimes developers use workarounds or make mistakes. Elden Ring is a big game and you can be certain that it wasn't always the most skilled and experienced developers working on every piece of the game. Don't mistake something as janky as this as intentional game design, especially when as I noted, the prime examples don't actually lead to anything unique, running counter to the constant purpose of fake walls in FromSoft games.

Edit: If you want the most likely scenario for what these are, odds are early on they were actually intentional fake walls. Someone who likely wasn't as familiar with the environment design was probably asked to change it into a normal wall, and instead of asking a question, took a bandaid approach and tried to make the wall durable beyond what any player would actually try to do to test a fake wall.

Bobertt1172d ago (Edited 1172d ago )

They may just be removed paths. On reddit they have found several more but many of them have no items in them. The fact they need so many hits makes me think the devs tried to save time and put up hidden walls with a lot of hits instead of changing the level because they didn't think anyone would keep trying after the first few hits.

Hmmm. Alex Garland’s other work is amazing so I’m definitely interested.

senorfartcushion13d ago

I've always found him pretty meh.
He's a very indecisive filmmaker.

Goodguy0114d ago (Edited 14d ago )

Why? These live action adaptations have been oh so terrible lol. I know sonic is successful but I just couldn't enjoy the first movie. You cannot adapt a full game especially a 70+hr rpg into a small 1-2hr movie without many cuts.

But I suppose their goal is to reach more people with these films I guess.

anast13d ago

It all depends on the creative talent in these projects. Last of Us and Fallout are good, but Halo is sad.

InUrFoxHole13d ago

I thought halo was pretty good

Tacoboto13d ago

I understand opinions and all but...

What in the world was pretty good about the Halo series??

FinalFantasyFanatic13d ago

The only video game adaptation that I felt went above and beyond was the Sonic movies, and they almost fumbled the first one, Mario was alright too.

-Foxtrot13d ago

I'll get downvoted to hell for this but despite Jim Carrey as Robotnik I think the films could have been better, they shouldn't have included the real world, they should have stayed on Mobius. Hell I would have rather seen animation since the Sonic Mania / Origin cutscenes were great.

I still think the Sonic the Hedgehog OVA movie is better.

PapaBop13d ago

Usually agree but give Alex Garland a chance, his other movies are amazing, this is clearly a project aiming for a high standard as opposed to just some shameless cash grab.

Tapani13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

Agreed, given his track record and in-depth research he puts into each project, not to mention writers and subject matter choices he makes, I would absolutely give Alex Garland a chance. I'm intrigued, and think he has a good chance of making this work.

Pyrofire9513d ago

They'll probably not include the side quests

Same! You can make an argument for each Miyazaki game but this one and Elden Ring always seemed like a god choice for live action (or animated series)

anast12d ago

That's what I'm thinking.

gold_drake13d ago

i meam, theres alot of material there sure but ... most of these enemies are .. non human.

is the movie gonna be mostly cgi? ha.
