Honestly, there aren't many games with such dedicated modding communities. Looking at this, just shows what an amazing and talented community GTA has on the PC version as opposed to how inferior the PS5 version is.

The difference is that when people bought that $1000 pc, console gamers were buying multiple consoles, memberships and multiple copies of the game.

So thats a PS3, PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, 3 copies of the game, and 8 years of online memberships. Well over $1000.

I bought this game once on PS3 beat the single player and never touched it ever again. I actually can't believe people keep buying it. we should have GTA 6 by now, but why make a new game when people will buy the same game 3 times. at least we got RDR2 which I liked 100x more than GTA5.

They probably did, but the fact is that they didn't have to. GTA5 and it's mods have always been there and worked on high end pc's from 2015. They haven't had to upgrade, buy multiple copies or pay for memberships just to play it online.

My pc built in 2013 for €1100 lasted me until last year gaming wise.
No clue who rebuilds their system every 1-2 years, if they do, they certainly have more money then sense.

Consoles just have APUs, they will never be better then a decent CPU+GPU. I mean, console tech is already couple years old by the time they come out...looking at you Zen 2.

It makes way more sense to keep having to rebuy the same game to have a somewhat better version of it every few years.
How much every generation do you have to spend just to play online?
How much more do you pay for digital games because there's no other direct store competing for your dollar.
All without giving any real agency to the player on how they want to run the game.

It’s not about the power its about the mods - the ps5 could do these mods if it had the option but basically rockstar are having another bite of the cherry just to give us the pc version without the mods and that’s what makes it superior..

Of course what else would you expect. 😁 Plus on the PC you can download a mod to unlock the FPS with the REDUX mod. Seeing this running in 8K with ray tracing + reshade is amazing, but 8K is pointless now anyway, just a fact that it can run smoothly at that res is incredible. Now just imagine if GT7 was brought over to the PC, and the mods and the level of detail that can be done. Polyphony Digital can really push the PC beyond console if they wanted to, there is so much potential there.

PC of course gonna have better graphics. However there is a ton of dual sense stuff going on with this game on PS5. I have on both and I prefer the slightly less fancy graphics for the dual sense feedback and to easily play it on a living room tv. All this whining about re buying the game. It literally cost $10 to upgrade on playstation, it really isn't that much money at all.

I hate to burst your bubble but we have been able to easily play PC on a big TV for 15 years now, PC GPU's have had HDMI ports about a year after the PS3 released and before that the majority of HDTVs had VGA inputs on them. Hell, the drivers for the Xbox 360, One, and Series X controllers are built directly into WIndows 8, 10, and 11. and Steam has even offers full Dualshock support and controller UI overlays for at least 5 years as far as i know maybe longer. And there are PLENTY of cheap ways to use a keyboard and mouse on the TV, ive been using the Roccat Sova for 6 years now and before that i just used a 2x4 that was sanded and finished and had padding on the bottom. The myth that you cant couch game on the PC easily, has been around for a very long time and its anything but, mainly just console only people spewing ignorance. Im eventually gonna get the Cycon Couchmaster so i can use my Corsair K910 Platinum keyboard and the thing is big enough i can have a full mousepad on it too.

PC gaming is expensive and overrated, all that power in high end pc's but poor optimization holding them back. Hackers on every online game. I have a 3080 and barely use it. I play my PS5 most of the time

Having a PC in whatever room is no different than having a console, and even sometimes depending on the compact nature of a case you're using since you can choose how big or small you want your PC, they're more inconspicuous and portable. PC gaming couldn't be anymore idiot proof than it is now when it comes to convenience. Although considering how many people here were having an aneurysm trying to figure out how to install an M.2 in their PS5, that bar apparently still needs to be very low. It's frightening these same people are allowed to operate vehicles.

What is there to "fool with the OS" apart from the initial install. You make it seem like using a desktop operating system is like some rocket science feat that has to be constantly monitored. I have serious doubts you own a gaming pc with the way you're talking, it screams lack of first-hand modern experience. Yes there are plenty of idiots out there that lack the mental capacity to operate something made ridiculously simplified the more mainstream it's become, anyone with ten year old hardware complaining about not being able to run the latest games is in the same boat as you as far as extremely poor judgement goes. If you get a literal headache trying to figure out how screws work to access a single slot, then I think it's completely rational to find concern about those same kinds of people being allowed on the road. Sorry if that observation affects you so personally.

Then don't use a mouse and a keyboard in the living room? PCs can bet setup to boot straight into Steam Big Picture Mode and you can use a controller. It's exactly the same as a console. You can even stream Steam to any smart tv in the house. If you ever owned a gaming pc you'd know that.

How exactly is this proof again? It's a random desktop with what I assume is a small compact PC. What exactly proves this is yours and not something you ripped off the internet?

I can't believe they needed years to do this update it's barely even worthy of being called an next gen update for consoles. Loading speeds are improved but can't compare to loading times for other games on next gen and while the graphics are better they don't look next gen at all. The best part of the update on PS5 was the implementation of the vibrations in the controller when driving. Then they have the audacity to not make it an update you have download online separately even if you already have the game and it doesn't include the story mode unless you pay for it. Fuck Rockstar.
