I’ve got xenoblade chronicles 1 and 2 I never finish X, haven’t finished either. I’m going to accept that this franchise isn’t for me.

Nebaku1174d ago

Same. There are few games I've wanted to like so much, but can't, like this one.

There are aspects of the franchise that deliver, like the open world and the story.

But the battle system and progression is just not FUN. The game basically plays itself, and turns into you just walking the player to fights they can handle over and over.

Lexreborn21174d ago

That’s actually the best way to say it. It is just playing itself and you just interrupt to speed it up a little. Would be much better if it had more control.

It’s all good, not everything is meant for me

I've tried really hard to like these games, but I keep dropping it due to the gameplay, I just can't get around the gameplay.

Nebaku, that's literally speaking what I feel. I still own it and plan to reattempt it after, Horizon, GT7, Elden and Kirby but it really was a let down for me. The series has great ideas but the combat never worked for me. I thought my issue with the first game was me being a Level-5 fanboy because they created Dark Cloud 1 &2 so i ended up LOVING White Knight and White Knight 2 especially, kinda brushing the first game to the side. But then my bro who said Xeno was better ended up getting hooked to White knight and never finishing the first Xeno. Then now I'm alot more into JRPGs and generally like most. I just can't get too into this mainly because the combat and systems surrounding that stuff. It also doesn't help that it's ridiculous fan service for no reason. I don't mind fanservice but it's a bit extreme for being with no real good reason lol.

New games artstyle atleast looks alot better

I probably won't play this game yet somehow I feel glad the characters look like normal jrpg character rather than whatever those things were in the second game

AnotherGamer1174d ago

They looks so much better than the clowns in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the art direction in that one was all over the place.

pietro12121174d ago

That's mainly due to working with multiple artists for the characters and blades

Am I the only one who likes the gameplay in Xenoblade 1 & 2? It reminds me of FFXII's ATD system (which is the evolution of the ATB system) just without the advance A.I system (gambits). I has a lot of depth to it

1 - 3 are connected. Idk if X is connected since I haven't beaten the epilogue in X yet. X will probably be connected.

Some good games on the list. If they are 3rd party games I don’t get them Switch though and a good chunk of the list is 3rd party. I own Pokémon Arceus but I didn’t care for it but my kids play it.
