Literally just saw this on gamepass as i was scrolling to see whats new, looked interesting, i love me some turn based rpgs, although might be a while before i get to it good thing it should on GP for a while so i got time.

Gotta finish guardians of the galaxy so im ready to go for horizon and gt7 then probably eldin ring.

Ill read some reviews on it, hoping there good as im over these action based rpgs

TGG_overlord1179d ago

I've checked out some reviews myself, and the game seems pretty decent imo. So it's worthy of a chance at least.

Flawlessmic1179d ago

Yea definitely especially seeing as i dont really need to pay for it.

I mean to be honest it had me at turn based rpg lol the only time any rpgs come out like that is when there games that looks like snes games.

Devs dont wanna put big money into a big turn based rpg anymore

Lighter91179d ago

@ Flawlessmic

Wasteland 3 and Divinity: Original Sin 2 ??

phoenixwing1179d ago

It's got some jank due to being indie but otherwise it's worth it

Flawlessmic1179d ago (Edited 1179d ago )

@ lighter

I gave the first divinity a go, but it wasnt for me, healing and bringing dead parters back were pain overall quite the hard game straight from the outset. Way to many systems at play.

I tried wasteland 3 as well didnt really grab me.

Thats not a knock on either game they just werent for me.

I guess i meant i wish there more big budget turn based jrpg like ffx which is my personal fave.

I remember the bosses from that game and all the status ailment they used to put on ur team, deadly 1 hit moves thatll wipe ur team if ur not careful. Actually usuing a variey of ur magic spells.

Most jrps now are all action ones where u mash the attack button use a spell or 2 to stagger the appoinent and then u just keep mashing away.

There really no strategy or varience to the battles like there used to be, like everyone loved ff7 remake, i thought it was pretty average.

The last good one i played that comes to mind is bravely default 2 as far turn based jrpgs go .

I've been looking at this, myself. At $30, it's definitely worth the purchase. If it weren't 50+ hours, I'd get it now. I just purchased Dying Light 2, Horizon:FW, Elden Ring, Sifu, and my Steam Deck. Such a strange place to release knowing how stacked this and next month are.

MadLad1179d ago (Edited 1179d ago )

Downloading now. Not too many JRPGs I'm actually into, but seems like it's worth a shot.

Gamepass makes it easy to try games I usually would overlook until dirt cheap.

SurgicalMenace1179d ago

Why does this thread sound like a GP advertisement? The game's reviewing fairly, and it's only $30. We got it; you wouldn't play it if it weren't on GP, but how offensive is it to the developer? You GP guys sound like a bunch of dumpster divers who only aim to play what you find while rummaging. Just enjoy the game; there's no need to keep mentioning it being on GP. Perhaps send a shout-out to the devs for daring to release their game in such a saturated release window. It takes confidence to contend against these heavy hitters. Hats off to Midgar Studio, definitely purchasing this.

Flawlessmic1179d ago (Edited 1179d ago )

Lol mate i own a ps5, XSX and a switch.

In the next month alone im buying 4 games on top of pokemon arceus which i just bought on release so excuse me for using a service available to me to save a bit of dosh.

Its really the main reason i bought the xsx to save money in the long run.

I buy games on ps5 and switch and xsx is my gameoass machine with the added bonus of not javing to buy exclusives cause they will be on gp.

The reason i brought up game pass is with the fact i have arceus, guardians of the galaxy, horizon is coming along with gt7 and elden ring i obviously would not look at this game considering the time of release hence bringing up gameoass is appropiate.

There would literally be no comments on this article if it wasnt on gamepass for us to consider giving it a go.

Not sure why ur insecure about it lol

I feel like it’s one of those things when people are excited about something and the other person can’t experience it they get frustrated and then try to bring it down.

I have PS5, Xsex, and Switch and I think Gamepass is one of the best things to come out this gen. I’m currently finishing Horizon Zero Dawn to get ready for the sequel and I haven’t checked out what’s new on Gamepass, so I’m glad my fellow gamers on here are saying it’s on Gamepass to try.

Flawlessmic1179d ago

@crimsonwing

Very true mate, i guess it easy for some to take the highroad and say ill pay the 30 bucks for an unknown game when he probs only owns a ps5 and calls other peoole dumpster divers.

Mean while people like u and me are supporting all 3 platforms which isnt cheap so yea we kinda do need try and save a bit of money where we can.

Espcially this year its absolutely stacked with games across all 3 consoles. This coming month alone will pretty much beats 2021 gaming output alone.

SurgicalMenace1179d ago (Edited 1179d ago )

@CrimsonWing69

Well it's a great thing that reality and what you FEEL are two different things. I have a SX with the option of GP but owning 400+ games on XB there's absolutely no value in it, for me.

Note: I support all 3, effortlessly. Let's share tags to see who's collection is more mature?

@Flawlessmic

Actually, I own all systems with well over 10K games, as I purchase quite frequently. Hasn't anyone taught you what assuming does when applied without any factual backing? Some of our incomes aren't limited enough to be concerned with free or cheap offerings. Though, I am also aware that this is not the norm for most individuals. I was only expressing that the dev should receive more acknowledgement than the usual "only because it's on GP" nonsense that's becoming so popular.

I won't even bother entertaining what your methods of measuring security are with a name that includes flawless. I assure you, insecurity is EXPRESSED most by those who are victim to its presence. Projection isn't a good look though, I'm sure you already knew that though.😁

@Mr. Cruz

Again, I expressed what it sounded like opposed to what it was, do you know that difference? Have you ever spoken to the homeless in length to know that your advertisements of GP mirror their very words to a fault? Hence the comparison. While having to mention that you're only playing it because someone else paid your way doesn't add any appreciation to the developer. It is a known fact that Microsoft did their part in showing their appreciation, but you guys are only showing appreciation towards the service not Midgar.

Furthermore, I bought the game, so no greater appreciation than paying their asking price, sir. I'd rather them be able to reach their goals so they'll have another opportunity to create, given that my options to experience more, without limit, came from individuals who share in my same approach.

MadLad1179d ago (Edited 1179d ago )

People probably sound like a "GP advertisement" because the average subscriber loves the service.

Be a detractor though. One of the biggest positives people make vocal on the service is that they try games they normally wouldn't play, or would buy dirt cheap used. Instead, Microsoft pays them obviously a good price to bring it to the service, which means more to the developers being supposedly "offended" vs the majority buying the game used of at a deep sale.

"Dumpster diving". The developers agreed to this deal. Sounds like you're the one "offending" the developer here.

babadivad1179d ago

You know Microsoft pays developers to have their games on Gamepass right...

SurgicalMenace1179d ago

Very well aware, but that's MS, not the players. My parents paid for my meals when I was a child, too. I guess that means that as long as they're able to foot the bill, there's no need for me to buy my own groceries. I can see clearly now.🤣

jznrpg1179d ago

I wouldn’t call mostly 6s and some 7s a hit . It’s got ok scores so far but I will buy it physically after I play Elden Ring Forbidden West , Relayer and Sifu . I’ll buy buy Dying Light 2 .with Edge of Eternity so April- May sounds about right to me . I don’t rent games so I don’t care about any rental options I have to pay a sub for .

SurgicalMenace1179d ago

Perfect and logical approach, sir.

Edge Of Eternity Review – The Edge Of Mediocrity

Angelus Victor said: Whenever I look for games to review or to maybe just sit down and casually play, I never look at what people have to say on it. Sometimes, all it takes is some good cover art and screenshots to get me curious.

And up until now, one game has had me incredibly curious to try out. Edge of Eternity. This RPG made by Midgar Studio has always made me curious about it, and yes, I did see that it has a rather… mixed score on Metacritic. But after finally grabbing it on a sale, I decided to check if the negative reviews that it got on its release years ago were truly justified, or if this is a secret diamond in the rough.
