"The Netherlands-based indie games developer/publisher SOEDESCO and the Australia-based indie games developer Pixel Heart Studio, today announced with great thrill and delight that they have joined forces for the upcoming release of Pixel Heart's 16-bit ARPG "Airoheart" (which currently is in development for PC, Playstation, Xbox, and the Nintendo Switch)." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
Dave writes: "Airoheart is nudging the slider past ‘homage’ to see what comes. It is Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, without the Past bit."
Josh @ FG: A love letter to the SNES classics – Airoheart releases on all platforms, but is there too many links to the past? The Finger Guns review.
VGChartz's Evan Norris: "In the end, Airoheart can't compare to A Link to the Past, despite the visual similarities. Even so, it's a perfectly decent take on the Zelda formula, thanks to an overworld populated with engaging side-quests and secrets, an interesting and flexible mana system, and a surprisingly nuanced narrative unafraid to get heavy. Some unforced errors and a lack of polish keep it from reaching its full potential, but top-down Zelda fans will find a lot to like, especially if they can move past the shaky early hours."
When a company uses assets from another game, and slightly modifies it, it tells me just how unoriginal and unappealing the game actually will be.
