Microsoft Can't Send You A Shipping Label Because They Already Have Your XBOX?

Ryan is probably looking at his XBOX 360 right now, wishing he could play it, but he can't. Why not? Red Ring. And Microsoft can't fix it because they say they already have it.

But they don't. Ryan has it. They sent it back to him, unrepaired. He's tried to explain this concept to Microsoft, but all they do is tell him to call back later when their computers are fixed. Ryan is tired of calling back.

in six months and one of those came back as a broken arcade so I know his pain. Sometimes they are a farce about this stuff. I've also got a mate on about his tenth-won't get rid cos of all the peripherals he bought but he's getting so sick of it now that he's gonna get a PS3 and just hope that MS have finally killed the RROD. He just isn't prepared to believe they really have so is getting a ps so he'll always have something to play. I was often wound up by the fact Iwas paying for live too but couldn't use it.

Personally I have had a 360 since the jan after it launched no rrod, I did have a problem with the disc drive called ms and they sent me a new one, no problem since. I have had two friends with rrod 360's I know it happens to some people, but they both have gotten replacements.

The internet gives complainers too much freedom, I dont mind people speaking up for themselves but do i have to hear every little complaint. Guess what I called verizon with a complaint and some lady gave me terrible customer service, it's an epidemic, dont get verizon.

mine hasn't, so not every 360 will. i have the falcon motherboard, and not a single problem with it the whole while i've had it.

i could understand being scared of the console red ringing, if it was one of the older versions, but with the smaller gpu's and cpu's, the chance of that happening has really slimmed down.

mind you, im not saying it wont happen, but it hasn't yet, and my console is always on. hell i fall asleep with it on half the time.

edit: and to mention, that i have had only one friend send his console back to get repaired. and after that everything has worked great for a little over a year now, for him.

(rant) I recently got RROD on my xbox and i had to send it in, on the status page on the website it said it had received my xbox and later on it said it was shipping it back to me. However i then received THREE e-mails saying that they are still waiting for my xbox? Their computer system is fooked up man. To cut the long story short i did receive my xbox back only mine was a relatively new one (bout a month old).

Anyone else think their phone system is screwed up? WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO SPEAK TO A NORMAL PERSON?! I DON'T WANT MAX THE ROBOT WHOS SUPPOSE TO "UNDERSTAND" WHAT I AM SAYING. But seriously you have to go through about 20 options, yelling instructions to a robot before you get transferred to real person?

It happened to me while playing GTAIV, first 1 rr then all 3. Doh!!

But I am really impressed with MS repair service. UPS came to collect on the 5th and ive been advised by e-mail on Friday last week that to repair is complete and the console is on its way back - due for delivery on the 16th... Thats 11 days and the console had to go out of country for a repair.

Well im very pleased, didnt think I would be playing my 360 at all over xmas :))

Remember the PS2? While it wasn't as big of a problem as the RROD it was a big problem, enough to cause many lawsuits and it directly effected me twice.

Didn't stop the PS2 and $ony buried the problem and basically told their customers to take a hike.

im not being stupid but can you tell me what problems the PS2 had because mine lasted from day 1 till last year when moved to ps3, and so did every1 i new with a ps2, even tho i was always dropping it ( took around other house every week) and i would go on crazy gaming sprees lasting like 60hours non-stop completing whole series of games like JAK1,2,3 R&C1,2,3 GTA1,2,3,vice,SA(no idea how i used to do that, i cant do it anymore).

Agentace I've read about some disc read errors but never experienced it myself. To bring up a failure that was nowhere near as widespread as RRoD is just a juvenile attempt at deflection. When the next 'MS knew and ignored the problem' article comes out, I'm sure we'll hear that Sony did too.

As far as Sony telling people to take a hike, that's inconsistent with my experience. My nephew had a launch PS2 which got cooked around two years later due to being stuffed in an entertainment center with inadequate ventilation. He called Sony, and when asked the date of purchase, told them he didn't know, as it was a gift.
They told him to 'take a hike' (along with his PS2) to the nearest UPS store to send it in for free repairs.

My experience with MS when my 360 died was very good as well, except for the initial phone call. The agent tried to play the 'Ít's out of warranty but just for you we'll make an exception' card, which pissed me off, because they're treating me like an uneducated consumer, that somehow missed the news of the 3 year RRoD warranty. Otherwise it was a pretty painless experience.

Never had a problem with my 360 and it is the total gaming experience that I want. The PS3 is doing OK and I doubt the doom and gloom is anything more than sensational journalism.

i got the yellow light of death today on my 60gig ps3 around 11:30am but i had a two year warranty one year with sony and one with gamecrazy i bought it on 3/30/07 so all i had to do is bring my ps3 in with receipt and they gave me a new 80gig with new two year warranty crazy right i had my ps3 in back in my hands by 12:21 o they had to break open my old ps3 to get my game(socom) out the drive lol

My first 360 Red Ringed about 10 months after I got it. Costumer service wasn't bad at all, it took just over 2 weeks from my initial call to get a brand new 360. Unfortunately the second one only lasted 3 months before suffering the RROD, it is currently at the service center being repaired. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor because it broke during the holidays and only 3 months after I got it and asked what they were willing to do about the situation letting him know that I would not be happy receiving 1 free month of xbox live. I asked for 1 year of xbox live, and he told me that because it was only my second repair that he could not authorize that, he could give me a game (Project Gotham, Viva Pinata or Kameo). I found that a bit funny "because it was only my second repair" I told him that the machine shouldn't have broken in the first place and asked to speak to his supervisor... to make a long story short they sent me the xbox vision camera which coincidentally is sealed in the original box just begging to be exchanged at my local Target for a year subscription of xbox live. ;)

Anyway, I hope I get it back before Christmas or I am going to have a very disappointed 5 year old... (He is getting Rock Band 2)

This happened to my Xbox so my mom bought the 199$ version on the thanksgiving special thing and I got 2 free games with it and an HDMI port. No hardrive so I used the one from my old one. All I have to do is call again and I ll have myself another working xbox so I could play system link So Im kinda happy I got RROD cause Microsoft has great choices for the consumers.
