Bob Dole wants a 400gb hdd. That would be hella cool.
All the people that say advertising isnt allowed on N4G, i guess all those tons of Black friday deals werent advertising then right? or is it just me?
this also stacks with the PS3 card from chase for another -$150 off. (new card holders only)
i hope that's true. that would make it $170!! a slickdeal indeed! i applied for the chase card a couple of weeks ago and still haven't received it.
yeah i used it to purchase my brother a ps3 so we can play online together instead of split screen on some games. Remember to ask Dell/Ps3 Sony Chase card provider info on how to get the -150 dollar when not shopping at sonystyle. Some sony authorized retailers requires you to fill out a form to receive the -150.
There is no reason to get a PS3: Games are better on the 360 Live is sooo much more advanced (worth the $35 a year....go to amazon.com) All Bluray movies are already being posted on the internet. Bluray is all the PS3 had and it's been gone for a long time.

it sucks because i was really looking forward to picking one up, $320 is a great deal.....
Go back to your dvd x12. IN other news i just bought 7000 of them, sorry guys:)
I would buy another one in a heartbeat. That's a good price. Not amazingly cheap but cheaper than the original price.
How much debt did Sony Computer Entertainment of America accumulate in the month of November? It cost $800 to manufacture each PlayStation 3 in 2006. Now It's dropped to about five or six hundred dollars per console. The PS3's cheapest bundle is $400.00 Losing even one hundred dollars per console must have some serious effects. If the PS3 sold 388,000 consoles in November, and each sale costs them 100 dollars, this means they essentially lost... 388,000 x 100 ----------- $38,800,000 Holy Sh*t
Actually, its quite the contrary... in Janurary 08, its reported by dailytech that PS3 cost 400$ to make. And according to hiphopgamershow recently- and I can't find the source for it- Sony makes 100$ off every PS3, i.e. it cost only 300$ to make now... which makes sense. So Reverse that to around $40 million made by PS3 for the month of Novemember... theres a reason why PS3 didn't drop in price... its still selling well and earning sony a nice profit and they'll try and make as much profit this x-mas break as possible. Sure Sony can afford a price drop, but its a smart idea to try and earn as much profit as possible admist a recession.
http://www.geek.com/article... Analyst Kota Ezawa of Nikko Citigroup bank believes Sony has managed to halve its manufacturing costs for the PlayStation 3 recently. The savings have come about due to the design changes implemented for the relatively new 40GB version of the console. http://gamer.blorge.com/200... October 29, 2008 | PS3 close to breaking even: 60% reduction in loss for game division http://www.gamasutra.com/ph... Research firm iSuppli believes that 2008 will be PlayStation 3's year, predicting that PS3 exclusives like LittleBigPlanet, Blu-ray's recent victory in the format wars, and a likely price reduction due to production improvements will drive increasing demand for the console.
lol @ using HipHopGamerShow as a credible source for anything. If Sony were making $100 per console then they would have dropped the price to increase adoption. Why do you think they haven't dropped the price?
i look a it this way... all values are in autralian dollars, convert as you wish... about a year ago, the first stand alone bray players started coming out. they were about $900, while the ps3 was about 800. The stand alone players are now about $380. This tell me that the cost of manufacturing bluray drives has dropped significantly. Which tells me that the price of manufacturing the ps3's bluray drive has also dropped the same amount. Add to this, the fact that all the other tech in the ps3 would be dropping in value (how quickly does the price of ram drop? and why would the rate of decline be any different for the rsx and cell?) and i wonder if maybe sony could have dropped their prices, but are simply waiting it out. Id say either this week, or just after boxing day. very latest, just after the kz2 spike is over, but i think that would be too late.... Maybe a massive reduction to combat the 360's momentum....

Down here in South Africa from online retailer Kalahari.net XB360 Arcade: R1,749.95 Silver PS2: R1,699.95 One of these days the XB360 price will be lower than the PS2!
The dudes at the Gamer Zone are makin discussion about an 400 gb hdd over this deal from dell for a damned 90$ ,,, what about you 360 fans lol have a share with em lol
It's not a price drop - it's Dell slashing prices to move inventory that's not selling.
