What Geoff Keighley has done for the entire industry with the Game Awards is nothing short of astounding, but we have questions and concerns.
My awards my rules!! stfu!!!
It's not Game of the Year and it won't win Role Playing GOTY. If it wins Best Score who gives a damn.
Most broken game at launch award; alongside Battlefield 2042 and GTA Trilogy.
They should actually make that an award, name and shame.
I like that idea. Start publicly shaming these companies
It should have a ranking of one 1-10 at least to make sure all of the broken games of the year are listed
Better than "best E-Sports coach* or anything E-Sports related
Should just have a Razzies for games.
They should have razzie awards for games to.
Best Role Playing Category...................... ..............."I'm fed up with this world! You are tearing me apart, Lisa!" No, but seriously, I can see why it was nominated for that category. After all, is not every day you get to Role Play as a Video Game QA Tester. Best in class for sure. 👍 Doritoman strikes again!!!
Never trust a clown who prides himself as a dorito man.
What’s next? Best Workplace Environment… Activision/Blizzard?
Thanks. Now I have to clean my monitor due to spitting out my coffee 😂😂
LoL Cyberpunk gets nomination for Best RPG, and Tales of Arise doesn’t even get a mention. Just, wow.
JRPGs in general are ignored in these kinds of awards show.
Eh. It's all wording. When I think RPG, I think narrative choice. Creating a character that has it's own tangible influence on the world. Most JRPGs are little more than tactic/action games with skill trees. The ones that can say otherwise borrowed from the choice based mechanics that D&D made popular, aligning them much more with your typical western RPG than typical Eastern RPG.
It is nominated. Looks like 18 people didnt bother to check.
When it was first announced I saw two sites stating tales of arise was not nominated. I am glad that got changed, and thank you for fact checking me.
Tales is eating my off days UP. Keep in mind I have Forza, Halo, and Flight simulator, as my most recent big titles for my series X. Yet and still, Tales of Arise is almost exclusively what I’m playing on my PS5 and basically period. Excellent RPG and a refreshing take on the tales series in general.
I just beat it and finishing up trophies for the platinum , loved it .
Really liking only down is that story on the back half. Combat and end game makes more than makes up for it.
I think the nomination for the soundtrack is fair. But best RPG? No. The game is broken and they've delayed the big updates until next year. It does not deserve that award. Plenty of good RPGs came out this year that should have been on the list.
I voted Cyberpunk as RPG of the year. Crucify me if you must, lol
Readying the fire for you at the stake.
Why ? To be funny ?
No.. it's my favorite RPG since Persona 5. I was being honest. But yeah, I'm ready for all the heat. I know it was a mess in the beginning but the patches have fixed most the issues. Whether or not someone likes the story or game play is subjective of course and I obviously do. I think Tales of Arise could also be in contention for RPG of the year.
Well you praise FPS's on Switch so clearly technical performance isn't an issue for you so it makes sense. 😁 But being a Switch owner and not simping for SMTV is criminal...SMTV should win.
Well I use my Switch primarily for visual novels, FPS's and horror games but I do own The Outer Worlds on it and there are several other RPG's I want for it including SMT V. So I simply haven't played SMT V but I am looking forward to it. Persona 5 Royal is one of my all-time favorite RPGs after all.
You baka , how do you vote for Cyperpunk when SMTV is on the list while saying Persona is your fav smh
I don't have it yet though.. sadface
I'm of the opinion ethics are a myth at this point. Something nice enough to talk about but no one really bothers with personally.
How does this top EA sponsoring the awards show on the year that Dragon Age won everything?
Inquisition deserved those awards.
Origins was the worst in the series to me. I'm not saying it had a bad story.. just the game play and everything else. I would love a remake of that so I could finally enjoy it. Dragon Age II just felt like a tighter and more cohesive package all around and Inquisition felt like it had the best of both worlds.
Inquisition was awesome though.. not as good as Dragon Age II but still amazing.
Inquisition was far better than DA 2, easily their best game since Mass Effect 2
DA2 was my personal worst in the series and widely known as the worst in the series. Though I am glad you liked it. Minus some open world aspects, Inquisition was one of Biowares top tier games.
Dragon Age 2 was garbage imo. The dialogue was funny but the game was Janky .
This is what happens when you do too much coke with Polish developers.
Soooo can we accept that these awards are a joke orrrr do we need more proof?
It already was one when Overwatch won GoTY back then
Because Keighley got paid
I’m hearing Star Citizen is up for scam of the year. I don’t see it having much competition but you never know how the votes will go!
Cracked me up good.
It’s going for scam of the decade shortly . It’s funny they started developing the game on Unreal Engine 3 , that’s how long it’s been .
How was trash such as Cyberpunk nominated but not Tales of Arise?
1) It's not competing for GOTY award 2) And even if it was, was the game playable on PC? 3) And if the game was playable on PC then why should it be ok to nominate games that offers piss poor pc ports but not the other way around (Mortal Kombat X, Batman, etc)?
It shouldn't be nominated in an category unless it's disappointment of the year.
Can't wait for some nonsense category to pop up like "Best balanced Game" with Battlefield 2042 being nominated just so publishers can advertise their trash to the masses. They can literally take one single positive aspect about any terrible game and make the whole game look good if they just focus on that one point.
2077 shouldn't be nominated for anything because of what they've done to people and their fans. Oh, and Sony got a couple million emails. They were pissed. Best music my ass.
Maybe it's the PC version that got nominated? It's 86% on Metacritic. Console versions are what's trash. SMTV is going to(should...)win anyways so it's a mute point.
Game awards are no different than most awards shows. They are mostly industry backed scams/achievements so they don’t mean much even if a game allegedly deserves the award.
Hmmm, wonder who has shares in cd project red then
Well deathloop won some price because it’s was black theme but the game was pure trash yet nobody complain. Why do you do know ? Cyberpunk was more fun
That’s some BS and you know it. Deathloop was an amazing experience, regardless of the color of protagonist. It had a fresh gameplay loop, engaging story, original graphic style, and guns and powers felt great. Make an actual point about the game or keep scrolling, but we don’t leave trash comments like that laying around.
Deathloop is one of the best games this year. Sure it has it issues, but not enough to call it a bad game. "It was Black theme" Tell me you're a racist without telling me you're a racist. Heaven forbid one game having Black characters as the lead. Cyberpunk was trash. The only thing good about 2077 is that it had some good character moments ruined by a half assed story with the illusion of choice. Your choices didn't really matter. Broken shallow FPS experience at least Daathloop has good gunplay.
Deathloop and Cyberpunk were both two of the best games. You on Crack, jack
Lol. Ethics and journalism.....right....that 39;s quite laughable...they base their ethics on sand and clouds. What's fine today will not be tomorrow and what's not fine today will be fine tomorrow.
It did have a good score so there's nothing wrong with that nomination, it being nominated for best RPG is questionable though.
Early adopters aside, my new fresh experience next year is all what I'm looking for.
