"Pokemon Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl" sold 1.396 million units within 3 days of its release

The recently released Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl has sold an estimate of 1.39 million copies only 3 days after its release.

I'm not sure why this is being framed as being comparatively amazing sales.

Sword and Shield sold 6 million in their first week, and Let's Go 3 million. This seems to be par for the course at best.

This was 3 days in Japan only. Lets go sold 664k at launch and sword and shield did 1.364m. (not adding in digital)

And? The Switch userbase is larger now than it was for those releases, especially in Let's Go's case.

Thus, why it is par for the course.

It's not like the amount of Switches in people homes doubled between releases.

Basing good sales purely on the idea that a few more consoles are laying around results in better sales for a specific game is assumption and non-logic.

It seems like Pokemon popularity is dwindling. They are very popular with the handheld system specially on the DS and 3DS

These remakes had a better first week than the original games in Japan. It doesn't seem like it's dwindling.

Sword/Shield also sold incredibly well and are the second best selling Pokemon games ever.
