so, when will we actually see games look like this?

My_Name_is_Earl1301d ago

When Unreal 8 releases. They do this all the time and we never see it in game.

I feel like we made good progress with LA Noire.
And some of the expressions in Injustice 2 were absolutely incredible.

I'm sure whatever Quantic Dream's next game is will be close to this.

ScootaKuH1300d ago

Not this gen, although we're getting close

LightofDarkness1300d ago

Well they're focusing 100% of the rendering power on one human head and face, so not any time soon if you're expecting there to be anything else in the scene. And then longer if you're planning on running it on anything less than a high end professional GPU.

Even applying this tech to lower resolution models will yield a jump in realism we've never experienced in-game before.

TinkerNation1300d ago

This exactly. Same thing with many other individual components, like physics, destruction, AI, all of it is, and can be way more advanced than what we see in games today, but when you have to deal with so many different parts together, each individual part suffers as a result.

Man games are becoming crazy realistic.
I can’t even imagine dismembering someone and it has release in gore. Crazy.

Once tech is able to simulate life that's when we all find out we've all been living in a simulation!

Ashunderfire861301d ago

That be from Mark Zuckerberg’s META VR platform.

Einhander19711301d ago

Let's see this tech in games :)

That's great, Oblivion Remastered already on sale! Think I'll jump in.

I feel like Lunar Remastered should have been included on this one too though.
