What even is 1 bit? Like a Game & Watch LCD style?
I think a true 1 bit game wouldn't be possible, but it could be the color gamut. Since 1 bit is either 1 or 0, it'd be limited to two colors, most likely black or white.
1-bit would mean a game only has 2 colours, most likely black and white. Return of the Obra Dinn is a good example of a 1-bit game. The game above looks to be maybe 4-bit, which would give you 16 shades to work with.
