Death Stranding is a very nice addition to his resume. Just because he did something different doesn't take anything away from his legacy. I loved the game, made a lot of sense given the state of the world portrayed in the game. I guess survival and dystopia would be approached in a more action driven way, huh?

No way. He's like Santa Claus. He spends 364 days per year preparing for his "big night" (in his case the game awards.) So he has no free time to be writing game reviews, previews or articles.

Accurate comparison. The only difference is that Tarantino did whatever he wanted with his career, and Konami and Kojima fans did the equivalent of forcing Tarantino to make Reservoir Dogs sequels for his entire career.

Albeit, I think Tarantino’s level of creative freedom never pushed him to make something completely bonkers and niche like Death Stranding. That game is pure pent up creativity, and I love every step of it.

Hideo Kojima’s games and the stories he writes have never appealed to me. However, I generally enjoy most of Quentin Tarantino’s films. I don’t see how Hideo Kojima is the “ Quentin Tarantino of games”. I have never understood the appeal of Kojima’s style of storytelling and game direction. However, I will admit Metal Gear Solid was innovative for its time.

I disagree with this comparison.
