This is definitely a wait before you buy type of game, especially since case 5 won't be available to download until sometime next year. If you're really jonesing for a CSI:NY fix, there's still new episodes waiting to air this year. Watch those first then buy this out of the bargain bin or on when it's on sale. To quote Mac Taylor, "Use your head, Stella, not your heart. "
Apple Games has posted a new feature examining CSI: NY, the latest game based on the popular CSI franchise. Published by Ubisoft the game allows players to enter the world of CSI: NY, experience original cases written by CSI writers, and solve mysteries alongside favorite characters from the hit TV crime show. Apple's article includes an overview of the game's features and list of tips and tricks for success.
If you've ever watched an episode of the popular television drama CSI: NY and found yourself yelling an obvious clue at the screen, now you can put your mouse where your mouth is with CSI: NY - The Game.
This downloadable adventure (also available on disc from Ubisoft, with an extra fifth case to solve) is filled with "hidden object" searches, mini-games and interrogation sequences, as you work with familiar characters from the show in order to solve four separate crimes. They're not difficult, nor are they long, but might be worth the $20 for serious CSI fans.
While it's an entertaining romp for the first hour or so, the game will tire quickly on the player. The show is much more exciting than the video game so it's best to stick to watching CSI on your television rather than playing it on your PC.
