Unlikely. PS4 sales are very slow atm, reaching 118.7M is kinda hard.
Ps4 already did great, amazing console, +115M is a great number, congrats to Sony.

It has already outsold Game Boy. Websites inexplicably combine Game Boy and Game Boy Color sales, even though Game Boy Color was a new system with new exclusives. And no, it's not like One X or PS4 Pro, or even like that New 3DS that had like 3 exclusive games not playable on the original 3DS. Game Boy Color had a ton of games you couldn't play on the original Game Boy. Combining it with Game Boy is like combining Vita with PSP because Vita could play PSP games.

Scalpers are not even 10% of sales, so yeah, likely over 12M are active users, same goes for Xbox.
Xbox Series likely +7M active users and Ps5 at +12M A.U

They have 47.2 million active PlayStation Plus subscribers and 104 million active users.

Down 4 million active users from Q2 2020 and up 1.3 million PS Plus subscribers from Q2 2020.

They don't say anything about PSNow. PR at work!

It's standard to list both revenue and profit. You have to state your top and bottom lines and explain how your operating costs break down and such. Every company lists both. Stating revenue isn't "spinning the numbers".

Really? Because I see Microsoft reporting a 16% growth in revenue for their gaming division last quarter, and only a 2% increase in income specifically for Xbox content and services. You're saying they don't list income for Xbox and yet they actually do. Like I said, every company lists both, they have to.

Considering how constrained production of the PS5 has been, its incredible that it has sold that kind of quantity so quickly. So thankful I was able to pre-order mine for launch as it sounds like a nightmare trying to acquire one at the moment.

I see one or two salty comments trying to suggest gamers aren't buying the PS5, scalpers are. Clearly thousands of consoles have found their way into the hands of scalpers but you only have to look at the sales numbers for software to see that the consoles are very much getting into the hands of gamers for the most part. The notion that PS5 sales are only that high because scalpers are sat on warehouses full of millions of consoles shows how desperate some people are to play down Playstation's success at any cost.

Gamers are buying them. Its just they either get lucky with retailers or resort to hitting up a scalper. But a unit sold is still a unit sold. How many of these units are actually plugged in at someones house and being used vs still sitting in their box is anyones guess.

But I still can't walk into a best buy, target, gamestop, Walmart etc and find even one console not even a picture an empty box or any semblance of hope in finding one in this lifetime. This is straight bs.

You're not going to find one randomly sitting on the store shelf.

I don't know what you've done so far but people that really want one are following Twitter, Discord, Reddit etc. for restock times. Getting multiple people involved to have a better chance and just putting in time to secure one.

It sucks but there is a global shortage for everything out there, at a certain point if you really want one, you have to ask yourself if the hassle is worth your own time and if it's not, perhaps consider just paying the scalper prices since they have gone down a bit.

Register with PS Direct, set telegram alerts on your phone with nowinstock.net, join a discord server. Follow that Jake guy on Twitter who always gets the target drops right. There are plenty of ways to get one if you are actually willing to do them over a period of time rather than just expecting to be able to waltz into a store and get a highly in demand product during a component shortage.

Copies of Windows 10 sold
number of consoles sold
etc...

Derek implies that MS isn't releasing Xbox hardware numbers or Gamepass numbers because they are not doing well when MS doesn't really release numbers for all their devices and licenses across all products and that is despite the fact that MS has been one of the most profitable company during the pandemic.
