XBA says: While it may be an obscure title, Gleylancer is a highly underrated shoot-em-up.
CCG writes - "Gleylancer was released in 1992 on the Sega Mega Drive in Japan. The story takes place in 2025 which isn’t that far away. Sadly, we are not anywhere near their expectations when it comes to spaceships, space armies/federations, or colonies. Lucia is a 16-year-old star fighter pilot whose high-ranking father and his crew are warped out of combat by an invading alien race. In order to rescue him, Lucia commandeers a prototype ship called the Gleylancer. The ship was supposed to be named Greylancer but was mistranslated."
Gleylancer is a previously Japan-only gem of a game that is a great pickup for both retro shooter fans and casual players.
"Gley Lancer is one of those obscure shoot 'em ups that has aged impressively well despite its occasional annoying moment. Plus, the fact that it's been modernized in clever ways and you can even play it as a twin-stick shooter is just radical, dude." - A.J. Maciejewski from Video Chums
