"Alongside the graphic and performance improvements, we are also offering 21:9 ultra-widescreen support."

Ultra-wide support ! ! This is gonna look so beautiful!

RaidenBlack89d ago

Swing it (the Leviathan),
like you mean it.

Gazondaily89d ago

Uncharted and now GoW. TLOU 1 and 2 next 😊

fr0sty89d ago

What a clown, lol... Sell that PS5 to me, so you can enjoy playing all the games I'll be playing on it several years later, while I'm playing their sequels.

r2oB89d ago

@ Rookie

If you are such a diehard PS fan then you'd have already played the game when it was released over 3 years ago. If that's the case then why does it bother you that the game is being released on PC, over 3 years after launch and when the console generation has already ended.

Obvious troll.

Army_of_Darkness89d ago (Edited 89d ago )

This little Xbox troll thinks he can pull a fast one on us to make playstation gamers look bad.. Dude just stfu.... I'm primarily a PlayStation gamer myself with a gaming pc on the side and personally, I'm totally cool with Sony releasing their exclusives a couple years or so down the line to pc gamers. More can enjoy them, plus gets Sony extra cash for future game development.

Jin_Sakai89d ago

“so you can enjoy playing all the games I'll be playing on it several years later, while I'm playing their sequels.“

True but PC players will be playing the better version of your timed console exclusives. Let that sink in.

S2Killinit88d ago (Edited 88d ago )

The better version of our last gen game. Let that sink in.

Wasnt rookiemonster one of the biggest xbox fanboys on this site?

Gutted in 2021 both ps5 and xbox series S/X don't support 21.9 😔

Asuka89d ago

Since the aspect ratio is wider you literally see more of the world around you. More of the game is rendered on screen. Similar to when DVD movies shifted from Full Screen to Wide Screen back in the day because Wide Screen(16:9) showed more picture.

DaMist89d ago

@Aphelion82. 21:9 provides a wider,.more cinematic view of what you normally get from the standard 16:9. I'll leave you a link providing some info and some screenshots. I personally game moved on to a 32:9 ratio from 21:9, which i freaking love.

neutralgamer199289d ago

Great more gamers will get to play it. And in the long run more gets will become fan of the series. I do wonder if Sony will charge full price or $39.99

I think we may see that in 2023. Sony could be releasing some of their games 18-24 months after initial release (could be earlier or later just depends)

Brazz89d ago

you are correct... also you are best waifu... team red forever.

ElvisHuxley89d ago

Sony first party titles are becoming the best looking PC games available. Long after the console releases, but hey, PC exclusive gamers get to experience them too now. And considering the quality of the first party titles, I can see a fair amount of PC gamers deciding that they won't want to wait years, and picking up a playstation for this reason.

Ultra widescreen monitors have even higher response times than 4k high refresh screens. You don't go by what's on the box.. look @ reviews. Not everyone likes them. For FPS & quicker paced games smaller 24 or 27" screens with high pixel density and fast pixel response with high refresh are best.

specialguest89d ago (Edited 89d ago )

Love the 21:9 support. 3440x1440 has been the sweet spot for my PC running a gtx 1080 for several yrs now. I'm patiently waiting for the 4080 to release, but It'll probably be scalped anyway

Told yall it was the next pc port

solideagle89d ago

This game is juggernaut: "As of August 2021, 19.5MM copies for God of War on PlayStation 4 have been sold"

Tacoboto89d ago

A quick search online found a few way-dated articles from 2012-2013 about GOW sales - 3 was the highest like around 5.2 million.

Nearly 20 mil is absolutely insane

Eonjay89d ago

That's crazy... At this point they are looking for additional avenues for sales. And that attach rate on PS4 is wild.

QSPR89d ago

You know the huge potential God of War, Horizon Zero Down, Days Gone and many more great games have to be portable with Steam Deck? I can't wait for many more games like Halo, Gears, Forza, Gran Turismo etc., keep them coming!

iplay1up289d ago

Sure, but PS5 doesn't even have that option.

boing189d ago

It leaked 2 months ago.

JonnyBeoulve88d ago

It's no longer a PlayStation exclusive and in fact the best experience (by far) will be on PC.

solideagle89d ago

I wonder if they are going to release Ragnarok in March 2022...This will generate many new fans who could potentially buy Ragnarok day 1

JEECE89d ago

I could be wrong but I don't think they will put it so close to Horizon (February) and Gran Turismo 7 (early March).

CaptainHenry91689d ago (Edited 89d ago )

Not in March. I say summer or fall

jBlakeeper89d ago (Edited 89d ago )

It’s either releasing in the Summer or Fall of 2022 or being delayed to Spring 2023. The fact that every single mainline GOW game except Ghost of Sparta has released in March or April leads me to believe it will be 2023. And putting God of War , GT7, and Horizon so close together won’t happen.

NeoGamer23289d ago

Or people will quit buying PS consoles just like what supposedly happened when XB started putting all their games on PC.

Why buy PS or XB? I can get everything on PC!

Nope. I believe the next one will be MLB The Show. In fact I think that will be the first one that goes day and date.

Darkborn89d ago

Maybe the only one. They still aren't going day and date. I highly doubt it unless they announce horizon is or maybe God of War ragnarok. Shawn layden said he was there when playstation made the decision to go to PC and it was to draw in customers to buy a playstation that maybe never tried it before.

dbcoops89d ago

Yeah Sport which will be like five years old by that time.

DarXyde89d ago (Edited 89d ago )

I'm personally curious about their criteria for PC releases. My thinking is that they're putting titles on PC that aren't big sellers and/or huge games in a series where you'll want to jump on the sequel/prequel(s) by investing in PlayStation hardware. So far, the latter seems to be the case. But if they do decide to release games that didn't meet sales targets on Playstation hardware, I would be upset. Not at the matter of releasing on PC, but at the thought that they needlessly gutted a great studio like Japan Studio.

ILostMyMind89d ago (Edited 89d ago )

This has nothing to do with PC gamers buying a PS5, especially now that there is less reason to do so.

Sony wants money and doesn't give a damn about PS users.

"If you want PS5 updates, buy the game again."

mkis00789d ago

Sony gets its money after console version sales decline. Thats it. You can get gow for cheap during sales on ps4.

DarXyde89d ago (Edited 89d ago )

I disagree with both of you.
What are you basing this on? Every game going to PC from a PlayStation Studio either has sequels in the works or you cannot experience the entire series without a PlayStation (yet?).

It may will be the case that you are correct, and I will update my position when we see more conclusively what they're doing. The difference is I'm being empirical and you're going on gut feeling.

If you're going to throw something like that out there, you should at least try to give better evidence for your position.

Rhythmattic88d ago

"This has nothing to do with PC gamers buying a PS5"
Really? The amount of times I hear any fanboi, Fanboi-ing any system, always posts..." But its been out for a few years already"

So.... Play Dos Games.. emulators, and don't by games day one... (Disclaimer- Thats generally me)

Its funny that old games matter it seems , but dont... everyones out for the latest GPU's to play old games I guess...

FFS. Its a great thing what's Sonys doing.. more people get to play those great games, But lets be real, the idea that they dont want to wait to play the latest game, that's good, thats not released Day 1on PC?
Maybe they wont pay for inflated GPU's and upkeep, But play those games , release day, most likely for less..

Theres always an opinion... Whether either of us are right, there will always be another saying we are wrong..... But most probably would agree with you... or would They?
