Paradox Interactive almost cancelled Bloodlines 2 after it "lifted the game" from Hardsuit Labs

From GameWatcher: "Talking about Paradox's involvement with the RPG genre going forward, and if it's going to keep developing Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2, Wester comments that it's going to "see how Bloodlines 2 is received before we invest the next big money in the genre."

"There is a huge desire for good games in the role-playing game genre so I absolutely do not want to close any doors, but I would like to see what happens, what can we do, and how Bloodlines is received"."

I fear this release. As much as I want it, I get the feeling cancelling would be best until a reboot in the future.

man this game.... freaking love Bloodlines, I really want 2 to be awesome! Such a troubled dev cycle :(

They should have because the game look to be going nowhere plus the call to delay it so they could would on a battle royal was a huge misstep

I'm really curious who's taken over development now. I suppose they're keeping it a secret until they're satisfied the game is in a state that's actually worth talking about.

If any modders are interested in working on this game, I think a clear dialogue mod will be one of the first available.

I'm disappointed. They seemed to have turned Johnny Silver-hand into a vampire. They say they are using VTM 5e rules, but there seems to be no actual roleplaying. The gameplay reveal was the same warehouse over and over again. The devs didn't try to get to know the goth community it seems nor do they have any experience beyond playing Bloodlines and even then they were not competent enough to understand what made that game great, let alone understand the TTRPG.
