The titles have disappeared from almost all digital storefronts.
I'm kinda surprised more companies don't do this. More and more games available through BC on Xbox consoles are getting remasters these days.
Choice is always better for the customer. That's why.
Why haven't have released any gameplay from remasters? They are supposed to release these remaster s soon yet we haven't even seen any screen shots
It's going to sell regardless. They probably don't feel the need to. Either that or something went wrong with the ports. They'd probably want to avoid a Sonic Colors situation.
Pull the cheaper ports to make people pay more for the newer ports.
Exactly. It sounds like they've just found a way to mark up the price to €60/€70 on these old games without any big improvements.
Digital is the future! Only chuds buy physical. /s
? When was the last time you think they printed a physical version of these games?
I mean... if someone bought these games digitally then it's still in their library. I can download and play my copy of GTA 3 from Steam at anytime. And as @Atom666 pointed out, they haven't printed a new physical copy in years...
Still have my triology in my library.
Exactly. I have my ps2 copies of GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas sitting on a shelf with my OG PS3 sharing a spot with my ps4 on the TV shelf. I ain't paying 60 Dollars for jack. They should have overhauled the archaic mechanics at least
Thats what I’m thinking.
Vimm's traffic is going spike few days from now.
And fools will buy the re releases.
Let’s be fair though, there’s a new generation of gamers besides us old bucks who haven’t played these and here they go. I think the way to look at these without bias is to simply just not buy them if you’re not interested. I won’t deny that it’s frustrating that we get more remasters than actual new games, but we also can’t treat this like these games exist solely for us who have already played the hell out of them.
Scummy move by Rockstar. Wow how the great have fallen.
How is it scummy?
People wonder why we are not getting GTA6 anytime soon. STOP RE BUYING OLD GAMES. Jesus GTA5 on 3 generations
Gta5 is 8 years old as of Sept 13, you can hardly say it spans 3 gens. The ps4 came out 1 or 2 months after gta5 and we are barely into this gen.
You think it won't? Lol
3 console gens...not human genetations ps3/x360 > ps4/xb1> ps5/xbsx
I’m just really curious to see what these look and play like. I’m guessing they did research/focus groups to see what they needed to improve and by how much to motivate people to buy them.
They removed these HORRIBLE mobile ports from storefronts...! Thank goodness, I felt bad for anyone who bought them. Let me mention it once more, this is very good news because those ports are so godawful. For anyone curious about how bad they actually where/are this video explains it well. https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Ahoy mateys!!! Arrrr ya saying what I think ya'rrr saying? Kewl 👍
You'll still find many download codes on the less than upstanding key seller sites. Complete BS that they aren't even giving people the option to buy the originals; forcing you to pay retail for the remasters if you want to play. I'm happy I already own the originals. The mods I've applied probably offer a better experience than what will be seen in the remasters.
I'll wait for a sale
What just irked my soul was the fact I had the 360 version of San Andreas , I look in my library and it’s gone. Removing it from the store is one thing , it’s next level to take something that I’ve already paid for. Now that’s stealing !
You agreed to that when you bought it digitally.
Can't take my original PS2 releases still on my shelf. ;)
In all their low res/framerate glory.
Wouldn't have it any other way.
Can you still download these if you bought them?
I have them on Steam. No issues there. If they literally refused to let you download the games you bought, at least on Steam, you'd have a class action lawsuit on your hands.
I know I had Silent Hill 1 purchase on PSN but they removed that and I’m unable to download it. Luckily I own the physical, but it’s still pretty frustrating.
