"When you have the right game, like Elden Ring, people would buy it on Christmas Eve."
CGM Writes: While we were over at PAX East, we were able to sit down with Goichi Suda (Suda51) and talk about the upcoming remaster of Shadows of the Damned

Turned based Phantasy Star and Shinning Force remain at the top of my list of Sega IPs that need to return. At the very least I'd take a Shining Force collection that has 1,2,3, CD and the Game Gear entries.
I don't trust Sega to do a proper comeback. The games will be just remastered and/or monetized to death.
Former Blizzard president Mike Ybarra recently suggested an interesting concept that has sparked a debate among gamers - the idea of being able to tip developers after completing a game.
If I had a 100% way to be sure that this money would go to a fund or a reserve dedicated only to the guys who develop the games, be them designers, artists, programmers and so on, I could think about it.
But we all know that this 'tip' would only end up in a publisher's CEO pocket to buy a new yacht, so, no, I ain't tipping anyone anytime soon on this industry
So they eventually don't pay their workers and depend on our tips to pay them like the case with waiters!
Is this a joke? How about the big wigs giving up some of their pay for their hard working developers.
Namco and Bandai have been "cracking the West" since gaming and toys started. Acquisitions and publishing are just added bonuses.
Elder Ring should do very well for them. But it's just the company extending its portfolio beyond Tekken, Soul Calibur and Pac Man into the next phase of the company. Nothing new.
What would really be awesome is a multi storied, souls type adventure game made using Soul Calibur and its characters with a darker tone. Which character you choose, the other characters end up as being bosses of their area they come from. My soul still burns for something like that. But I would make the game based off of Soul Calibur 1.
They have been in the West for a long time even after Bandai bought up Namco from anime to games they are pretty big. Enslaved was a sleeper hit but its one of my favorite games I love Gundam, I love the Tales franchise, I love Xenosaga. I remember as a kid I use to love SquareSoft and would always get excited when they produced a new JRPG or some other game. But after a while I have been getting excited when Namco drops a new Tales title. Tales games are my favorite JRPG sure there is some duds in the mix but I still played them. I wish Xenosaga saw an HD remake and I wish Enslaved got a sequel. Namco has been in the west for years after Tales of Arise and how its being praised as a fan favorite this could be their stepping stone to get even bigger in the west. I myself as a fan will always stick with Bandai Namco both anime and games sure they have some games that don't pique my interest. But if other fans can enjoy those games then it's great.
The west is already cracked out
Though people or fans are familiar with Bandi Namco know about the manga, toys and so on. But I’d say not until recently that their games have been doing good.
Cracking the west? So you saying the west don't know about Pacman? Ridge Racer? Ace Combat? Soul Edge? Tekken? You been living under a rock for quite sometime ehh?
