might actually try it now

Its “nice” that sony will add spiderman but I have to wonder why anyone would bother playing as him when his own game is far superior to anything this game is doing.

jukins18d ago

Because playing as spiderman WITH other super heros is an exciting idea.

Lol funny as your comment sounds exactly like something a 7 year old would say. Not to mention your name. . .

Instead of playing two games, only play one. Sound logic.

So, you've never played Ultimate Alliance games with Spidey after the stellar PS2 Spidey?

Lightning7718d ago

Square needs a desperate boost in player count. It's a no brainer for them to release the game on Gamepass.

franwex18d ago

They could just make the game free.

It probably should’ve been free to begin with.

Darkborn18d ago

They already tried that with PSNow like 6 months ago. Still didn't save the game.

FlintGREY18d ago

I played it on PSNow. Game is a whole mess

CantThinkOfAUsername18d ago

Scraping and cancelling this game would have been the no-brainer move. What a waste of time and money. Deus Ex died so we could get this garbage.

glennhkboy17d ago

I guess there is a contract that CD need to keep this game alive, at lease until the release of Spider-Man dlc. That in turn is depending on the release of the next Spider-Man Movie from Sony.

agreed, they also need crossplay if they want to keep it alive.

All they had to do was make an amazing open world single player story driven RPG and this game would have broken all sorts of records and gamers would have been happy

Instead of slimy schemes to make GAAS and now they have no one but themselves to blame for. I sometimes seriously Wonder if these publishers have any common sense whatsoever because they make some of dumbest anti money making moves

CrimsonWing6918d ago

It looks like they might have learned their lesson with Guardians of the Galaxy.

eaze201317d ago

it's why I am so excited, they could have easily just made it a 4 player co-op game, so this singleplayer only aspect took some guts, and I am sure it will make the game overall better and help make a good cinematic experience that can be otherwise diluted.

TheDoomedGuy18d ago

To be fair...devs and gamer devs likely know this...higher ups and investors not necessarily.

JEECE18d ago

Unfortunately I think the higher ups often only see the most successful versions of the thing they are trying to do (in this instance, things like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Destiny) and think, "we need one of those. People love Marvel, so if we make a Marvel game like Destiny, it will be a cash cow."

It's like how in the years following Call of Duty 4, a lot of games that should have been single player focused had multiplayer components tacked on because the suits said "my son plays that Call to Duty game, why can't we have one of those? Let's make this game like Call to Duty."
