Horizon Forbidden West: Evolving Aloy

From PSBlog: "Since the launch of Horizon Zero Dawn in 2017, Aloy has lived in the hearts of our players, and her story of survival, self-discovery, and sacrifice resonated with many. That story is set to continue in the upcoming sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, which takes place six months after the events of Horizon Zero Dawn. Aloy has travelled west to investigate a mysterious and deadly blight. In these uncharted lands, she will meet strange new tribes and encounter ever more deadly machines. Together with old friends and new companions, she must brave this new frontier to find the answers she needs to save life on Earth. "

The detail in this game leaves my jaw in the floor every time I see it. Simply incredible. The bar has been raised yet again by Playstation Worldwide Studios.

Of all the character model changes from game to game across all of gaming, I think I like the Forbidden West Aloy update the most. There is something about the face they used that makes her legit look like original Aloy but a few months or even a couple years older. Something rings true about how the collagen in her face seems to have realistically aged since i saw her in the first game. It creates this sense of seeing a friend again you haven't seen in a while. THAT is why GG is the master of graphics. It isn't necessarily because of their technical expertise(which is incredible) but rather their perception of the things that are unconsciously noticed by the human eye in the real world. Perceiving those things, figuring out how to apply them, and low key adding them into the game to trick us into having a more realistic experience than we are even prepared for. This game is going to be absolutely legendary. When I first saw the character models and then the gameplay, I knew they had done it right with this game.
