WTMG's Todd Eggleston: "It isn’t that SkateBIRD is bad, there is just nothing there to make any part of it more than ok. It feels as if Glass Bottom Games spent all their energy high fiving each other over the idea of putting tiny birds on tiny boards and making real world environments into skate parks. There just wasn’t anything left in their tank to make the rest of the game as interesting. As easy as SkateBIRD is to pick up and play for ten minutes, it is even easier to put it back down. This is only made more obvious with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 releasing just last year prior, reminding us all of just how magical these games were and can be."
"The Seattle-based (the US) indie games developer Glass Bottom Games today announced with great thrill and joy that their avian action sports game “SkateBIRD”, is now available for the PS5 and PS4 via PSN." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
"The US-based indie games developer Glass Bottom Games today announced with great joy and excitement that they are going to release a brand-new update for their avian action sports game “SkateBIRD”, on June 1st (2023) for PC (via Steam, Itch.io, and Amazon Luna versions) and consoles (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch) via digital stores." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
Ethan writes: "SkateBIRD is a great gimmick. It is super fun to create a bird and the level design is definitely fresh. However, with its increasingly frustrating physics, repetitive challenges and bland graphics, it’s ultimately a poor copy of other better skateboarding games."
