COG writes: We've come up with a list of five of the most controversial video games ever to strut their pixelated stuff on gamers' screens over the years. Think you can name at least one off the top of your head?

The DOAX games are actually pretty fun. Article is definitely written by a Zoomer as it doesn't even include games like Postal.

Or GTA: San Andreas Coffee Time. This guy is one of the activists trying to get stuff banned so he picked and chose games he was offended by.

Violence = it's our typical entertainment
Sexual content = degrading! Absurd! Sexist! Degenerate! Rape training!

I don't know about you all, but sex makes me happier than seeing violence..... 😁

If they'd done one second of research they'd know that the touchy feely part of DOAX3's VR mode was never released.

iplay1up236d ago

It was released, just not in the U.S. it is right there in the article.

Master-Tonberry34d ago

The game was released in China and Japan that much is true.
VR functionality was announced as an optional update and was initially going to allow the player to poke and prod the girls but due to the negative reaction from western media this was removed for launch and the VR mode does not allow any form of interaction.

There's a billion much more controversial games than this esp going back to the early 2000s haha that's okay though. Lists are just for fun.

Postal and Postal 2 are probably the biggest omissions here

I remember Manhunt being pretty controversial. And leaving the OG Mortal Kombat out just feels wrong. I can't think of another game in history that got anywhere near as much attention and controversy as that.

I mean, the government were having regular meetings about it and it also lead to the creation of the rating system.

wwinterj36d ago

Manhunt 2 was actually banned at one point in the UK at least. I miss the series.

Those people being loser game journalists.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 VR Mode = "violent and aggressive promotion of sexual assault" apparently.

Get a grip you absolute clowns. If this game is promoting sexual assault, then every game with violence is promoting violence.

ecchiless37d ago

i want a fear effect 2 remake just to piss off those ppl, i want the cockroach scene in full 4k xD

moriarty188936d ago (Edited 36d ago )

agreed. some people are clueless and just trying to call things out to appease a certain group.

annoyedgamer36d ago

The writers of this piece are those people and it worked since the release was stopped.

The hypocrisy is strong with games media. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard things like that from them and SJWs but then they give things like Grand Theft Auto V accolades.

giveyerheadawobble36d ago (Edited 36d ago )

Can be said for any VR game that allows for any kind of interaction with NPC. Let's see: Skyrim? Yes, I suppose you can technically "sexually assault" anyone in that game, and with a sword too, should it be deviant enough to intend it in that way.

IT'S NOT FUCKING REAL! These idiots writing shit like this need to go out in the world and get some sunshine.

I'd ban Super Seducer, though. Just because the maker actually believes he is a "super seducer" of women and is pathetic enough to think he's some kind of Casanova giving advice, the sad bastard.
