This is why I love modding. I liked the emurgance of classic styles CRPGs in the modern age, but the advanced character creation usually seen many times leaves you with character portraits far from your actual character.

I got tons for Kingmaker. Most the modders working on these provide top quality and easy to use portraits. Good stuff. Are there new portraits out?

MadLad952d ago

Honestly, I couldn't say.
A couple years ago I took a union lead position, requiring a lot of hours a week for me.
Pathfinder is a title I want to get into, but don't have the time.
I'm typically playing short titles, while chipping away at a choice RPG.

I just saw the title, and wanted to comment on why I feel modding is so valuable, and why I think more people should at least think about making the jump into PC gaming.

@TRTC

Congrats on the union lead. I went ahead and downloaded it anyway. Hopefully they have some more alchemist picks I can use for Kingmaker until I pick up Wrath.

MadLad952d ago

It's appreciated, man. Really. My first goal was politics, but I got close enough to realize nothing I could do would help any of the people I wanted.
At least unions, typically, are actually fighting for those in the middle class and under. When I was given the chance to front that, it wasn't even a decision. It was automatic.

Back to games though. Hope you enjoy it. Heard good things. I'm currently playing through Arx Fatalis, since I learned they updated it to modern operating systems, fixing a lot of the issues it had otherwise.

@ I'll chect out some Arx, I heard it was a good game.

what even is a native port? The entire basis of native is that it's the unaltered original which a port can never be.

Friendlygamer43d ago (Edited 43d ago )

It means tailor made for the specific hardware, right now the game basically runs like it would on a ps4, it has long load times, crashes and other problems but a version made to take advantage of the ps5 power could be much better, they could probably drastically improve the visuals too.

This is one of my fav rpgs but it's kind of a pain to play it on consoles, would love this rumor to be true

Michiel198943d ago

I'll just call this an optimized port and call games that have been build from the ground up for a system with it being the lead platform a native game.

thanks for explaining.
This game has been on my to play list for so long now along with pillars of eternity.
