Alana Dunitz writes: "Tales of Arise is so well done with the story, graphics, battle system, music, characters and voice cast that it is a must-play for anyone."
The beloved JRPG Tales of Arise has become available on Xbox and PC Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue today, but not before passing 3 million copies sold.
It's a great entry into the Tales franchise I enjoyed it. I just wonder if Namco will make a new Tales game. Or will they make a sequel or prequel to Arise. Like they have with past Tales games like Berseria being a prequel to Zestiria, Tales of Xillia got a sequel, Tales of Symphonia got a sequel even though it's crap. Either way I am excited for the next Tales game.
I have slept om this series. First game was Arise and it was awesome. I just didn't like the end where they threw one mini boss after the other until the last boss.
February’s Game Catalog lineup for PlayStation Plus brings together racing thrills, sci-fi adventure and a selection of entries from a classic RPG series. Take to the streets in Need for Speed Unbound, blast off into space in The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition, then experience some acclaimed RPG fantasy action in the Tales of… series. These and many more titles are playable from February 20. Let’s take a closer look at each game in turn.
Finally, Resistance: Retribution 🔥
It's an alright month overall. I think Sony should try to more consistently get some high quality indies Day 1 in the service, e.g. Ultros would have been good. Those have usually been some of the better months, e.g. Stray, Sea Of Stars, Tchia.
Shame that for this version of Outer Worlds, you can't import your save. 😔 Truly Spacer's Choice
You can say what you want about day one purchases but besides that Plus really blows GamePass out of the water.
NFS, Outer Worlds and 4 different Tales of Games... and Retribution. And you throw the monthly games on top of that... its no competition.
BTW... how is it that no one realized that Microsoft could just put its games on Plus. No one seems to realize that Microsoft and Sony are now working to enrich each other. (Console ware is over)
Is that Jet Moto 2, under Resistance? As of writing, it's just an image and no text.
Why is the Killzone series still M.I.A? I still love playing splitscreen co-op of KZ3.
After a big blunder, Xbox has all but confirmed that the incredible RPG Tales of Arise is finally making its Game Pass debut very soon.
That’s cool. I bought in on a sale for like $15, or $20. Was gonna play it, but new games keep coming out. Now FF7 Rebirth is about to come out, so again I will have to push this til later.
I did play Scarlet Nexus on Gamepass, so it doesn’t surprise me that they will release this there to get a bit more income.
I think I must be crazy or something because this game is nowhere near a 9 or 10 to me. The combat is pretty engaging, that’s for sure. Visually, it’s ok, the environments seem so empty and the world feels surprisingly small. Like traveling from one realm to another is literally like going through a few tunnels.
The dialogue is pretty cringe at times. Not nearly as bad as Kingdom Hearts, but not nearly as good as Persona or FF7: Remake.
The music is fantastic. Some of the cutscenes later in the game can be pretty cool. However, none of the villains are given enough time to really be memorable. It reminds me of the bosses in Snake Eater. They just show up and then they’re gone.
It’s not a terrible game. Like I said, the combat is great, the music is good, there’s some areas with great visuals (albeit, not much going on in the environments). The story is mixed for me. On one hand there’s interesting parts, but on the other it’s bogged down by a lot of cheesy dialogue.
For me it’s hovering in the 7 to 8 territory. I think it’s nowhere near as good as a Persona or FF game. It’s kind of gives me the same feel as the latest Atelier game, just without the alchemy.
