I was an exclusive member for one day! haha. I got my beta code today that I should have gotten the day November's Qore came out. No worries though. I got hooked on HOME the moment I stepped into the plaza and I felt that more people would make it more fun so I'm glad I'm gonna see a ton more people by tomorrow. Why? Social networking sites/hubs such as Second Life tend to have a more adult audience/following, the PS3 also has on average the oldest buying demographic.

I'm not quite sure what your point is, Home is for people who like social networks, having a chat, meeting new people and so on. You don't have to be young to enjoy it, I'm 26 and I us it often. Meet quite a few new PSN friends through Home.

Not everyone enjoys doing exactly the same things, pull your head out of your ass and wise up to what you like isn't the case for everyone. Ironic really that someone using a social website would call using a social network... "lame".

I, for one, am very happy Sony is going this route. A free (for users) interactive interface.

Sony has told us for many months it was launching for EVERYONE in public beta form. And that it will be tweaked and improved with added things as time goes on. Just like Google. Remember, Google was in public beta for God knows how many years. But you didn't notice that now did you?

since it was planned to be an open beta to begin with WHY not just release a year ago when others were getting invitations to join the HOME closed beta. I mean if it was the final version of HOME and it took this long to get out that makes sense...get the kinks out, bugs fixed , etc. But to announce HOME and wait so long for the open beta to arrive (almost 2 years) doesn't make sense. Even Gmail is still in beta but atleast they let everybody try it from day one and when the final version does comes out then everybody can enjoy that as well. That what sony should have done with HOME, since its a beta people will be forgiving of bugs, kinks and just enjoy it and help the creator make a better final version. To me I don't think the final version of HOME will ever come, it will just release newer and newer versions of beta...which fine by me to tell you the truth. I prefer that method because that why people can still enjoy HOME while any serious issues can be chalked up to "it the BETA". I just wished Sony did the open beta early or just waited and announce the whole HOME thing until everything was ready with the open beta.

No envy, I'm just not a fan. I've been tooling around Home for a couple of weeks now. Three Arcade Games, a handful of pool tables and 8 lanes of bowling isn't much to do. But I might log into Home maybe once a week and kick around for 15 min. or so, when the full service is rolled out.

You realise that what you took part in was a closed beta right? Not all of the features like the ability to launch games and invite peopel to the games you've created (which is one of the larger points of having Home) were active right? Yes it does allow you to form a Party in Home,go to the game room for example,use a sand table to plan out your attacks & strategies then launch right into warhawk Then,when done,Brings you right back in Home.

I have all of the current-gen systems and have done for a few generations now, and while I'm not impressed with "NXE", I don't particularly think Home is anything special either...

I find it difficult to find time to play all the games I have, let alone wander around in a virtual representation of a house, while sitting on the couch in my actual house. And yeah I get the socialising aspect, but my mates drive, and as I say... I have a couch in my house.

After being in the beta I'm not really excited... I think I played twice for 20 mins max since I've had it... There's just nothing to do ! I hope it will change overtime and they make it into a social networking game and not just a social network.

what do you mean nothing?, you can play pool, you can play bowling, you can play echocrome, icebreaker, and the train game (don't remember their name), you can preview 3 sound tracks, go to the see how socom was put together, do you know you can get a new customized avatar t-shirt for earning a high score in the games mentioned before?, you can lunch warhawk from home and go with your new "friends".

If I use home to be honest, I wont be using it as a "social network" really, I will most likely be using it with a group of friends then just jump right into a game from there. Then I will probably check out the game trailers and movie trailers. I won't be using real money, but if I get something out of the trophies then I will get stuff. After the initial explore around and check everything out, the above will be mainly what I use it for. Meeting new people along the way to play games.

that I can hustle the chess tables in a virtual world just like I do in real life? Sweeeeeet!

However, I'm not quite sure what angle to take in order to coax the easy dough. Out here in the real world, my cleft palate and permanently crossed-eyes coupled with my 2192 USCF chess rating works wonders on my wallet -- chess hustling is now my only job! The only downside to this approach is that the expert makeup artist eats up nearly half my earnings (~41%) -- I guess a realistic cleft pallet is hard to pull-off -- and my eye muscles seem to be weakening from constantly forcing them to unnatural positions.

Since I'm pretty good at acting -- just ask my girlfriend's other boyfriend's boyfriend's girlfriend -- I could try to disguise myself as a "uber tard", so to speak, or maybe a really naive child. It should be pretty easy to execute. Vocal chord manipulation is one of my greatest strengths -- for instance, I'm flawlessly reciting what I am typing in Elmo's voice.

All I have to do is reel the sucker in with: "hello person, I bet you a lot of shinny monies that I will assimilate you in chest with my horsey!"; maybe I'll even stutter a couple times for added effect, and viola, free money!

By the time they realized that I pulled a quick one on them I would be ten load screens away upgrading my apartment's furniture. Even if that person sees me at the mall later that day, it's not like they can have their virtual posse beat me down until I am virtually blue in the face.

Home free, baby! Home free.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for real chess hustling...eh, whatcha gonna do? In real life, if you're going to earn the money, you will have to take your lumps with it. That's life. You live and you learn. You get beat-down and you earn. My face might currently have more bruises than it does pores, thanks to my adventurous ways, but I find that women can overlook that minor inconvenience when you are rolling in hundreds of thousands per year without rolling out tens of thousands to the IRS.

been in beta for like two weeks ... haven't been on much for I have been busy in real life and no time. Home is interesting but i love the people complaining about it now when it is just a closed beta with most of the features implented. Beta is for you to go in and test things out see if it is working.. not everthing is up and running.

One thing that people do not mention is that there is more to do than just talking and socializing to people, you can do this while playing a good pool match on the virtual pool tables, play chess for those intellectual ones, play bowling, play some arcade games (there are hidden awards for you to accomplish, a free t-shirt from achieving a high score in icebreaker for example).

This adds to the fun of not only trying to socialize, you can preview music on the downtown arcade, it would be cool if sony starts playing some of their new groups and you can check them out without purchasing nothing, etc.)

A lot of things to do, is not just walking around people. by the way I like home bowling better than high velocity bowling and one you had to pay for, so see ya all in home

There are only two things i think that make XBL better XMB. 360 has cross game private chat/party system and one touch message access. When you get a message or game invite on 360 all you need to go is hit the guide button when the message appears and your taken to it. With PS3 you have to navigate the XMB which can be annoying. Sony has failed with its private chat, the only way you can private chat is in a weird white cube. If my friend is playing LBP and i'm playing R2 i want be able to talk to him. It amazes me that this hasn't been feature hasn't been added. If home fixes this i might then consider launching games from home. If you ask me home just seem pointless unless you like dancing around in a fake world talking to strangers. I hope Sony proves me wrong.

As much as this is going to change PSN for everyone (for the better) I honestly don't see myself using HOME that much. I've had a ps3 for a year and a half and I rarely play games online, and I'm not one for adding people i meet online, I usually just play games with close friends. Sadly all my friends have 360's so at the moment my friends list has one person, but he NEVER uses his ps3. Which is kinda lame cos There are some games i'd like to play wit him.

Although home couldn't have come at a better time, my XBL subscription just went today, and I dont wanna pay for another year until AFTER the holidays :P

But yeah... where was I going with this? Yeah I dont see me using home THAT much. But you cant complain when somethings Cheap as Free :D (CHEAT COMMANDOS!)
